No, Bill's post on his site was yesterday, and it was discussed quite a bit here. Nothing new.

Sorry, you are right. I misread the date. I'm losing it. Must be the format war.

Clearly, Paramount's commitment is to making money first and foremost. They made that clear in august and they will make it clear again in the coming days. At least they are sensible and know when to fold, unlike some HD DVD companies **cough**toshiba/universal**cough**.

That was his two cents from yesterday, though hopefully he would give us A update on the situation this morning.

Bill has always been right on with his info. Yes, it is only a matter of time and today looks to be that day the war comes to a complete end.

Ha, straight in the Detroit Freep press site. There is a tech journalist at CES and he has a video camera and does a brief walk through of a few displays at CES. Go to 2:26 on the video. I thought his comment was quite hilarious.

Pure $$ logic says that Paramount and Universal supporting HD Dud is temporary at this point.

Once the sides shifted from 50/50 to 70/30, so does the mentaility of these studios.

I compare this to a political campaign such as the democratics fighting for the nomination to run for president. They will attack each other to the death, but once a clear cut winner has been established, the losers will shift their support towards the winning candidate in order for the greater good of the country.

Both sides are working towards the same goal, they just took different journeys. Only one can win though. Now there is a clear cut winner and with planning for 08 xmas already in the pipeline, this decision has to be made sooner versus later.

That just reminded of me of Bender's evil laugh from Futurama. It fits well.
