Any release of a Star Wars movie is guaranteed to be different in some way, shape, or form from the previous release of that particular movie. Plus, George Lucas keeps saying he still has other things he wants to put in, so it cannot be called a "Director's Cut" if he isn't satisfied with the release.

Perhaps the first sign that this thing was going to sell out faster than expected was when the one in the UK sold out about a month and a half ago, that seemed to be an indicator U.S. copies would start diminishing quickly because people in Europe would start buying the U.S. version now.
Then they increased it from 30,000 limited to 35,000 limited approximately a month ago and now.....?sold out?

It's getting very close.
Another person commented a couple pages back that they ordered it from another retailer today right after seeing AMZ sold out and any remaining stock elsewhere will be very limited.

Thing is, it could just be that Pfister prefers a specific set of lenses which give him that soft look. Even though anamorphic glass has been greatly improved over the years, he may insist on using an older set so he'll always get that luxurious, glossy appearance instead of the startling clarity of the latest optics.
