The line in question was spoken by Miranda at her shindig where Bruce makes his public (re)appearance -"You have a practiced apathy, but a man who doesn't care doesn't dump millions into a save the world project, only to go into hiding when it fails"...something something. I disagreed. She was making speculation framed as a bold assertion. It isn't as though he's going to politely interject - "Actually, Ms. Tate, the primary cause of my self-imposed exile/arrested development is a bottomless void due to the less of my true love/prospect of a normal life directly resultant from my war with the clown prince of crime under the guise of Batman, though the failure of this clean energy sci-fi bullshit was certainly a contributing factor!..."

Any release of a Star Wars movie is guaranteed to be different in some way, shape, or form from the previous release of that particular movie. Plus, George Lucas keeps saying he still has other things he wants to put in, so it cannot be called a "Director's Cut" if he isn't satisfied with the release.

Especially considering it crossed 1 billion dollars in box office and was/is one of the most anticipated this year's movies on Blu-ray. Yeah, let's not announce extended cut, let's keep it secret!

lol, you guys. Chris Nolan does not do extended/director's cuts. Not ever. This wasn't even worth speculating about.

I know that. You know that. But some people are just...

I bet a month before release of "Ultimate Collector's Edition" of Trilogy in 2013 we will see something like this "OMG I hope Begins, TDK and TDKR are in extended director's cut versions "

"You don't watch a lot of news, do you Mr. Wayne?"

It's either sold out or has gone retailer-exclusive. Amazon UK seems to indicate an additional (limited) number are coming.

Perhaps the first sign that this thing was going to sell out faster than expected was when the one in the UK sold out about a month and a half ago, that seemed to be an indicator U.S. copies would start diminishing quickly because people in Europe would start buying the U.S. version now.
Then they increased it from 30,000 limited to 35,000 limited approximately a month ago and now.....?sold out?
It's getting very close.
Another person commented a couple pages back that they ordered it from another retailer today right after seeing AMZ sold out and any remaining stock elsewhere will be very limited.

I feel like the scanner optics and the subsequent downscaling/compression to 1080p effectively add the equivalent of a film printing generation or two, so scanning the negative gives you something that looks like a really nice 2nd gen print, and scanning the IP ends up looking more like your run-of-the-mill 4th generation material... which is not ideal IMO.
Wasn't it Torsten Kaiser who lambasted the BD of Galaxy Quest because they used an IP for the transfer? Still, if you start off with a high enough scan then you should be able to stem any generational loss; I don't remember anyone complaining about Apocalypse Now being derived from an IP at 4K.

Thing is, it could just be that Pfister prefers a specific set of lenses which give him that soft look. Even though anamorphic glass has been greatly improved over the years, he may insist on using an older set so he'll always get that luxurious, glossy appearance instead of the startling clarity of the latest optics.

Does the trilogy set come with a UV code for all 3 batman movies or just the dark knight rises?

It should be just a slip, at least from the looks of it.
