And yes, I am claiming I never said it so it's up to you to prove I said it because I can't prove a negative.
So I have to trawl through thousands of posts (many of which may have been deleted, let’s be honest) to prove that you did say it?

Ok, but not tonight.

Have a good evening one and all. I held up better than I hoped today chatting with all of you fine folks, but now I need a nap if I am going to try and watch an entire movie with my new AVR for the very first time.
Enjoy.

We have revenue figures. I want operating costs so as to get some idea as to how much they are making, or losing, with their SVOD service. The question was also meant to be asked about ALL of the major SVODs and that is why Anthony P gave his answer re: Netflix.
But Anthony's answer is not the correct one. Not according to your requirement.

I gave you the best possible answer I could. If doesn't suit your needs I recommend you try to find it on your own. I have wasted enough time on the subject.

My entire point being that looking at revenue alone gives a skewed picture; operating costs and other expenses have to be included. If I claimed that my lemonade stand made a $1 million in revenue last summer that would be impressive were it true. It might be less impressive if I revealed my costs to be $2 million (I used only the finest ingredients).
Oh - so you use a simple example and want me to accept it. But when I use a simple layman's terms example - that doesn't count. Time for a GIF!

It sounds like you just gave me the price to buy the building. I want to know how much it costs to run the place over a unit of time including utilities, bandwidth, labor, all of it.
Nope - as stated - you have to provide the building (existing building). You give me a "shell" and for the money stated I will give you a fully functional 100,000 square foot data center. You the client have to provide all the equipment that goes into it. Not my job. Only the client knows what the actual running expenses are.

Tell you what. I will give you an incentive. You find a post by me where I said:

"I hate Movie Theaters."

Now it has to be those exact words. If you can, I promise I will never post on this sub-forum ever again. Get Wendall and Vilya to help you.

I’m guessing you have found the post and it says dislike rather than hate. You are hanging on that subtle difference when we both know you enjoy every single one of those cinema doomsday articles you posted in the cinemas are closed thread.

Anthony's answer was more useful than just your repeating "no one knows."

I was simply illustrating what I have been driving at all along: looking at revenue alone is not enough.

I had no objection to your example; I look forward to the month of Foreveruary every year; my birthday is on the 11th. Put it on your calendar.

Why type all of that noise when none of it answers the question that has been put to you repeatedly: how much does it cost for a SVOD to operate and maintain their large data centers including bandwidth? Talk about wasting people's time; you are the king at it. I never asked what it cost to build one, but what it cost to run one.

I don't want you to leave and this is not my battle, anyway. Why do you insist upon making me a party to it?

Now leave me out of it and let me have my nap or this old fart is gonna get cranky!

Nope. You have to prove I said I HATE movie theaters. Not DISLIKE. Not I DON"T CARE FOR THEM.

I HATE Movie Theaters

Actually I do love those doomsday articles. I have been selling short AMC's stock. Making a decent amount of money doing it too.

What kind of film fan takes delight at a cinema’s struggles?

I can’t fathom you out. I think you just enjoy antagonising people.

I don't see where stating what the Net Income for Netflix provides an answer. You can't simply divide Net Income by the number of subscribers and voilà you have your answer. That answer would have no meaning.

It is a line item on a balance sheet. A very important one as a matter of fact.

Please do. And the next time I go out for sushi, each time I am about to put a piece in my mouth I will think . . . And Vilya hates this? Sucker is crazy!

Only one corporate person knows the answers to your overall questions. The Data Center Manager. He's the one who prepares the yearly budget. So how would any of us know the answer?

I am a retired business man. I am always on the lookout for opportunities to make money.

There are two ways to make "quick" money from the stock market. Selling Short - you think the stock is going to go down. Buying low and selling high.

LOL - I almost lost money selling AMC short when it did that little "blip" up. But as expected, it went right down again so I made a few thousand.

I bought 100 shares of Disney back when it was selling for $100 a share. I knew the stock was depressed due to the losses they were experiencing from their parks, cruises and hotels. But after seeing 10 million people sign up for Disney+ on it's first day of business, I knew Disney had a winner. I sold the 100 shares last Friday. Made $75 a share: $7500.

I can understand your personal feelings because I know what you do for a living. Money doesn't motivate you like it does for me. I spent my whole professional life chasing the Almighty Buck. And I am damn proud of it.

Well - I have to take a break. My son is bugging me to make latkes for dinner. It's the 4th night of Hanukkah.

See you all later.

Been playing Cyberpunk 2077 and just binged season 3 of Yellowstone on BD. Man, I don't think Taylor Sheridan has ever written/directed anything I didn't downright love! I hope he directs the final part in the "Soldado" trilogy. He's more than a capable director.

Lee A Stewart don't let these guys get you down, sometimes they are like Ravenous Dogs doing just about anything to discredit you but just hanging on to the rails of that sinking ship. I gave you guys Revenue Projections from John Campea's Classroom Video. We are just comparing Box Office Revenue to SVOD, we know there are other expenses. SVOD is just a Solid Steady Revenue Stream!

Do you have any reading comprehension whatsoever? No one tried to discredit him; he was merely asked for more information. Stop trying to create animosity where there is none.

Lee generously maintains the Home Video Sales Thread and for that alone he has my ongoing appreciation.

I watched my first movie tonight with my new AVR and it was such a treat not to be limited to a TV's built-in speakers! I set-up my speakers manually by entering the speaker distance measurements and setting the levels by ear and it turned out pretty damn good if I say so myself.

I do plan to get an SPL meter just to see if the results will be even better when I use it. Even so, I am very well pleased with how it sounds right now.

My friend does not need, nor has he asked, for my help. I was not a witness to that exchange between you and him and I see no reason to involve me, or anyone else, in it.

I made enough money to now be able to do what I enjoy work wise but yeah, money is not my motivation. It was a means to a end but it took 20 years of working in a job I didn’t love.

You can’t take money with you when you pass. That’s my view.

Correct. But I have a son to pass my money to. Make sure his financial future is sound. That means more to me than anything. I've created an investment portfolio which earns a substantial return each year. That return is reinvested. And I have my "gamble money." That's what I used to buy the Disney and AMC stocks. 80% of the "win" goes into the investment portfolio, the other 20% back into the Gamble Fund.
