That's 14 years in the making! Congrats on finishing it!

X-Men Apocalypse. Medium. Excellent depth and some negative para. Mild-to-medium layering though. Only 2 pop-outs -- books and that container van. Shame, had they given 1 more, I'd bump it up one notch.

Movie: I enjoyed this movie, probably my favorite as long as you suspend logic and intelligence and just enjoy the action and visuals. I like mythology so having that backdrop of ancient gods/mutants at the beginning really draws me in. A few eye can3dies here in Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence and Olivia Munn.

A man of culture, I see

How strong was the popout to your eyes? I wonder if the screensize matters for the container truck pop out?

Hahaha I meant to say "my favorite among the X-men series".

Re pops, I sit 11 feet from my screen and they definitely pop 4 feet out of TV at least, perhaps 5.

I watched my Avatar Way of the Water 3D BRs last night. This was my first time seeing the film. What a great and beautiful movie this is. I will have to watch it again.

One thing I really liked was
[Show spoiler]that the film ended with Jake's eyes popping open, just like how the first movie ended.

Finished watching Avatar WoW today, we did part 1 last night and part 2 tonight. While the actual plot of the movie is paper thin, it's an entertaining spectacle that keeps your attention, with the action sequence at the end being top notch. I am so glad we got a 3D for this as it's pretty impressive, especially when they get to the water villages. The depth is top notch and gives a real sense of them floating in the water. Popouts are used here and there but when they are used have nice effects, like the embers floating out in front of the screen.
A+ all around.

Finally watched Eternals. One of the best Marvel flicks, with excellent 3-D. Right up there with Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange. A pox on the haters. Highly recommended!

My pleasure. Heck, there is a button to insert the tag, so it is REALLY EASY to use.

I don't want to be personally responsible for spoiling any part of the film for anyone.

That would be 2D, right? I wouldn't watch that, either. I waited until I had the 3D BR discs in hand and an open evening to watch them.

Whoa. Can’t relate. On the other hand, I can’t stand the Avengers films; of the MCU, I only like the one-off or two-off films like the ones I named, Ant-Man 1 & 2 (wasn’t too keen on 3), Black Panther (haven’t seen Wakanda yet), etc.

I will try them again sometime, also I might try black panther for the 4th time as we couldn’t get into that one.

I think there are a couple of layers to the Black Panther movie and if you can't get past the first layer then it's at best an OK MCU movie.

Layer 1: The OK MCU movie.
You may or may not recognize it's cultural significant but it doesn't matter coz in the end it's just another MCU movie.

Layer 2: An MCU movie that resonates.
You know it's just an MCU movie, but you either vibe with T'Challa's hope for the future or feel Killmonger's pain and you feel a connection. I think a surprising number of people vibe with T'Challa's hope which is why it did so well. I'm guessing a significant minority connected with Eric Steven's pain.

Got a big haul today - eight total (3 disc sets Deutschland 3D, Europa in 3D along with Prison Girls and Agypten 3D). Guess which one isn’t a documentary lol.

So watched Agypten. Near reference quality 3D - felt I was actually exploring the cities, deserts, seas, rivers and of course the pyramids and sphinxs. Many a popout, beautiful color and detail.

Agypten can be purchased individually or part of the 3 disc set Beautiful World 3D (I got the single copy having the others). Though no code appears believe it's all region.

Very informative at 62 minutes and highly recommended.

I expect I'm not the only person around here who's watched Deepsea Challenge again in the last few days. Not exactly morbid, but just natural human curiosity.

Anyway, I just re-watched it - and had forgotten about the shots in it from The Abyss which were converted into 3D: I'm glad to have got the two legacy conversions of Cameron's films - but that's the one I'd have far preferred over Terminator 2, and maybe over Titanic too. I do wonder whether he ever gave serious thought to converting it, I suspect he did. I think it could have looked superb.

Yeah The Abyss is amazing, that would have been incredible in 3D. Still doesn't even have a blu ray yet though.
