Time! always time. I have Black Narcissus on DVR but last week PBS went with a re-broadcast of The Civil War, this put me so much behind

I finally got through all mine, but now I have more showing up. Maybe I should rewatch a few first. Not enough hours in the day to get everything done, then watch some films.

Don't get me started on rewatching!! I'd love to watch a few over, but always end up going with something I have not yet seen. Tonight, I'll go for either Au revoir les enfants or Shock Corridor...decisions decisions.

At least you're watching the films. Some people prefer to admire the shrink wrap.

I try to watch them shortly after I buy them. Weekends, as I rarely watch any films during the week, sans my mid-week NetFlix rental (OK...maybe I'll stream a flick or two during the week...if there is no baseball game to watch).

This past week put me behind the 8-Ball, as Taxi Driver and A.I. came out this past Tuesday. That and an Eclipse set/MoC DVD boxsets (plus a BFI set on the way).

Too easy to get behind...no new CC blus for me until next week...Kes...

Lateralus, but for no specific reason. All of the albums are great to me.

P.S. I'm still kicking myself for selling Salival back in my college years (when I thought I'd be able to rebuy it for a reasonable amount of money).

But to return to the topic: Perhaps a Tool Concert on blu by Criterion

I would die at such an announcement.

Watching what is available to me is always a struggle.

I have my favorites which I've already watched on the disc I currently own, which I get to far too infrequently as it is.

I have a handful of blind buys, which generally have priority (I don't blind buy often).

I have a bunch of free discs from various sources that I haven't seen (and I don't even count as "owning" in my collection).

I have new purchases of films I love of which I have not watched the new disc I own.

I have Netflix disc rentals.

I have Netflix streaming.

I have the occasional TV show that I watch upon airing or online day-after streaming.

The list goes on and on.

I see a couple of places have the Fear and Loathing and Blow Out Blu-rays in stock Just ordered both.

Do we know if Criterion have managed to keep the awesome slipcase packaging of the F&L DVD? Or are we just getting a regular case?

I am going to guess they have gone with the latter.

Just wondering, because there are many criterions I'd like to order...
normally July/Nov for the 50% off. Also 3for2 is normally June/Jan.

From what I hear the Fear and Loathing case is a regular case.

I finally watchd my Criterion The Seventh Seal. While the picture and audio were fantastic, does anyone else find the movie to be an insufferable bore. I cannot understand what is so special about it other than the exquisite cinematography.

I use axelmusic.com quite a lot, that's probably your best best. Otherwise amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk sellers (sometimes), used to use movietyme.com but their shipping is expensive. Recently I started using blubastard.co.uk - but these are all for delivering to the UK, to Germany there may be other options.

As a sidenote, I recently blind-bought Days of Heaven (and I don't usually blind buy) and have watched it 3 times in the space of about a month. Granted it was mainly to show it to different people, but still. Beautiful film. I've educated myself with Malick through watching The New World, Thin Red Line and now Days of Heaven, in the last couple of months, and am really looking forward to Tree of Life. (I also want to rewatch Badlands as I saw it when I was about 16 and barely remember it). Anyway, when I first started watching Days of Heaven, the first thing I thought was 'omg, Beauty and the Beast'. Seriously, the scores are so similar. Well, those first few notes anyway. (I'm talking about the Disney version here). On looking this up I feel like this similarity has not been noted enough, this is obvious to everyone else, right?

Some do, some don't. I don't. Have you tried suffering through the supplements? (I don't know what they are offhand for The Seventh Seal, but they tend to help sometimes.)

Insufferably boring films sometimes require you to meet them at least halfway.
