Before Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace came back to the theaters earlier this year converted for 3D, the plan was to bring the other five movies to theaters one at a time each year, but that has apparently changed. At the Star Wars Celebration VI event in Orlando (where we first found out about the Blu-ray release two years ago) Lucasfilm announced that Episodes II and III in 3D will be released in theaters back to back in fall of 2013, arriving September 20th and October 11th, respectively. Missing so far from the announcement? A reason for the back-to-back release or any word on Blu-ray 3D plans. In lieu of more details, although it means Attack of the Clones will come back later in the year than Phantom Menace did, with any luck this accelerated schedule is a good omen for the original trilogy's return. Of course, we'll have to wait and see what magic can be worked with those older film and special effects elements, however IGN apparently found an early preview of the Episode II 3D footage to be promising.

They're still releasing them in an inappropriate order for any young newcomers to the franchise. I dunno, maybe it's impossible for anyone not to know the twist in Empire anyway...

Well, to be fair, that twist is probably about as big a secret as the ending to Planet of the Apes.

You mean the Apes don't own the Planet? They're just leasing it?

That's not a bad price at all.

GAME have it listed as £29.98 but are OOS at the moment. I think I'd pay £30 for the set, if I saw it in-store.

Yeah £30 is about right for this set. Can see this or less nearer Xmas. Once one or two like game and sainsburys do it, the others will follow. When it is closer to Xmas the price will rise to rrp like last year

To be honest, I doubt the 9 Disc Set will ever go as low as £30.

Well it seems eventually prices will fall. Don't want to start a 'But this is STAR WARS', but look at the JP with dinosaur £90 now £20 at zavvi. I bought JP BTTF Alien set all digipacks for £15 each. Batman set, Bourne, Matrix all under £10

The Bond set I think is a great deal at £74 due to discount will end up at £49.99

I was going to order the Hitchcock set (now they are going to correct it) at £100, thats now already £69 at zavvi for 14 movies. I'm going to wait four-six months and bag it for £40

SW will be £30 in most places before long

Yes, at that price, the Bond Set is fantastic.

Argh as we edge towards winter, SW will be £30. I have happily held out, plus we'll probably be seeing a new set of 'updated' printed SW blurays with new cover sleeves. Just to really annoy obsessive fans into purchasing another set with different images

+1 Read these are not 10/10, which with the money behind them should be.

Yep but they started seperating only a few months after purchase.. probably the second time I watched the saga in full. I just open it carefully and try to stick them back, only the last pages are affected.
