I've done a trilogy viewing the past two years and it's something I was hoping to fit in at least once a year going forward. It makes for a great day's viewing.

Not on blu-ray though yet obviously...just screeners.

First one: 2½ stars. Too comfortable and not challenging enough considering the subject matter. Getting tired of this kind of 'British cinema'.

Second one: 3 stars. Maybe an extra ½ star in time due to brilliant performances and great dialogue, probably on Lehane's part. Those looking for a Hardy fix this year should look no further (ignore Locke). Shout-outs to Gandolfini (R.I.P Tony Soprano), Frecheville (Animal Kingdom!) and Schoenaerts (Rust + Bone, Bullhead, and for sporting the most difficult surname in the business).

Third one: 3 stars. Decent debut for the director and further proves O'Connell to be a good leading man (though he was still better in Starred Up). Bit of an ambiguous ending though...and not of the particularly compelling type.

Also saw Birdman (5 stars, go and see it ASAP) and The Interview (2½ again...don't rush out to see it). Birdman might be the best film I've seen this year...

One of the few films I would consider to be 'perfect'.

I loved Chungking Express, glad to hear you're unable to decide which film you prefer because I've never seen Fallen Angels.

Yeah and I saw Chungking Express first as well. They're kinda 'sister films' I reckon...you'll see what I mean. They could have even been cut together to make some kind of super film!

I'm sure Fallen Angels was meant to be the third story in Chungking Express, but War decided it was too long and decided to make a separate film instead?

Well something like that anyway.

Watched the Pilot.
Haven't seen this show since it was on TV. A back-to-back rewatch will be interesting i think

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same price as the current price on Amazon which is £23. The boxset was reduced from £55

I'm starting a complete re-watch this coming Monday. It's been over 10 years now since it started so it seems like a good time to go back and revisit it all.

I was indifferent towards Lost on first viewing. Rewatched it all back to back about 3 months ago and loved it. Certainly benefits from binge viewing.
