They have so many decades of cool poster and illustrative art from all over the world for these movies, I'm soured on the idea of spending many hundreds of dollars to get an all-black shelf at the end of it. First world problem for sure.

Hmm... I love the style but not sure if it matches the feel of the movie that well.

Anolis used this for one of their Mediabooks. It was their second Hammer Blu-ray in 2014. They always put the most popular artwork on the Keep Case, and add rare or more unseen posters to the Mediabooks.

You need to remember that price includes Australian GST (sales tax) at 10% which should be removed for exports but then theoretically you need to add your own local sales tax depending on who you buy from and local customs.

Once you adjust for the taxes it’s around £55 in the U.K. so comparable to the Hammer Films big box releases but less discs and other stuff than they include.

Will be interesting to see if Hammer Films can get this as it’s an ITV title. Imprint have a good relationship with them given previous releases but historically in the U.K. they only dealt with Network. Their stance though appears to have mellowed here given they are now happy to deal with Gerry Anderson site and store on new releases.

Excellent news! This opens the door for new 4K restorations of the other Rank-distributed Hammer films: COUNTESS DRACULA, VAMPIRE CIRCUS, and HANDS OF THE RIPPER!

Exactly. Vampire Circus (1972) in particular desperately needs a new restoration.

It’s not hard to imagine Hammer making a deal with ITV Studios. I don’t think anyone would complain if those four got the Hammer UHD treatment.

Yeah, with postage added it ends up as £72 - hopefully we'll get a UK release.

Vampire Circus is the greatest of all 70s Hammer. That opening scene - with the young woman acting as a lure to abduct a child to then be abused by the male vampire - is absolutely chilling. It clearly stems from the Myra Hindley-Ian Brady killings, which were ubiquitously featured in the UK press at the time (and for a long time after). VC takes some extremely dark risks. It's also creatively fertile in scene after scene. I'm a recent belated convert to VC, which really needs to be seen by more eyes!

So I'd love a 4K of VC, a film which also begs some decent restoration work.

And I wonder if Twins of Evil will be now be licensed and released by Hammer in the UK? That would bode extremely well for so many of our beloved Hammer classics!

I'm a bit wary of Twins of Evil from Imprint, as I had hoped it would be released on 4K from Hammer themselves, as part of their nice collector's edition range.

Not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign?

ITV will be a difficult nut to crack, given they've typically only ever licenced out titles in large numbers (in recent times, only to Network and Strawberry Media I believe). But Hammer aren't a boutique label, so if anyone can do it (and for films 'they' produced), they can.

I have just pre-ordered from Imprint, so you can all thank me when the UK version is announced in a few weeks

Is this in reference to Twins of Evil?

ITV have licenced out to overseas labels - the German and Spanish Sherlock Holmes blu-rays for example (weirdly not released in the UK, despite the HD remasters being repeated on TV).
