Seeing Rocky mentioned and starting to get confused which thread I'm in It's easy to mix these two franchises up with them both starting with "R" and starring Sly.

I still haven't seen anything past the second one. I fell asleep 15 minutes into Rambo III and haven't reattempted it.

I might be the only one who felt like the series ended with First Blood Part II. I really liked Rambo III as a kid, but as an adult it jumped the shark a bit, I think I enjoy the memes Hot Shots Part Deux got to make at its expense more than revisiting Rambo III. I do still laugh at the blue light joke though. I only saw one of the newer ones don't even know which one it was maybe IV and didn't feel anything like the old films to me.

Stallone is on record saying that he really doesn't want to do any more Rambo or Rocky films and is also staying away from further Expendables films, if he can help it. His relationship with the people who control those franchises has soured and he seems to want to keep himself focused on projects where he has some control over how things are done and gets some measure of mutual respect.
