Hum back

If the AMP is still plugged in, your probably hearing an electrical hum coming from it

2nd thought has any of you owners matched up the cherry finish vs. the Energy RC cherry finish. I tried to do a search on that also to no avail.
You could look on http://www.thedeepdiscount.com at the subs and then see what the color roughly looks like compared to your speakers.

By the way, what Energys do you have?

I actually have them being shipped from Vann's right now. They are 2 RC10's, 2 RCmini and an RCmini cc coming from another source. I have actually never seen the cherry except on the net.
Hope you're happy with yours. I am replacing a 20 year olod 5.0 Sony system.

I 've never had a sub do this. Did your old sub do this? Did you try giving Acoustic Audio tech support a call yet?

This is from this manual( page 7 ): http://www.acousticaudiodirect.com./...Sub_Manual.pdf

Humming Sound

" If you experience a hum when plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet, you are experiencing an electrical interferance in your house's wiring.
Option 1:Plug the subwoofer into a different AC outlet in the room, one that isn't supplying power to your components (A/V receiver, TV, cable box, etc.)
Option 2:Buy a grounding adapter that changes the 3 prong power plug on the powered subwoofer to a 2 prong power plug for proper grounding. Screw the connector on the adaptor to your switchplate (the screw connects the ground). You should also invest in a set of quality RCA cables that are shielded from electrical interference. "

This is what I was wondering when I got mine. I couldn't ever determine if there was just a bad batch out there or not. Seems like I just got a defective one. After I tore into mine(after they told me they wouldn't warranty it since I hadn't filled out the warranty card) I saw where it looked to have been worked on before. You just get bad products sometimes. I rolled the dice and lost. Chalk one up to experience. I have since put a new(dayton amp) in it and it's pretty dam impressive! I just wasn't happy with how The Deep Discount treats their customers. Good luck deciding on your purchase!

Customer Support is very important. I'd rather pay more & have good customer support.
How'd your HD-SUB12 compare to your PA-120?

Pretty cheesy for just forgetting to fill out the card. Had to be a record of your purchase. Makes me wonder if the PA-120 is the safer pick, just not sure of the vinyl cherry vs wood on the HD-sub12.

I need to replace the pin's that hold the front grill in place, any of you know where I can find these? My wifes friend broke two pins while trying to remove the grill to see the driver thank god shes hot & big breasted because I almost snapped!

Problem is this, I can't contact AA since they don't ship to Canada... any idea's?

Joe

They are pretty comparable but the PA-120 beats it in all categories really. Looks especially. I still don't think the AA does the lower frequencies (below 25hz) any better than the PA does. They both can do it but not very well or loud without distortion. Customer service on the PA is without a doubt better.

Yeah I thought so too. Here's my issue with the deep discount in a nutshell.
