That's not how it works. It's all discs sold. 4K UHD-BD is added to BD in the second chart (total weekly sales).

And for those BDs that include a DVD - those are counted as a BD.

Lee talking about his same old Home Video Sales Thread stuff in this thread.

Dare you to actually discuss something different like what you watch via media or streaming, rather then the same old argument. Its a new year, change it up.

I will buy the quality issue, up to a point, but the content issue - that is a totally subject issue based on personal tastes: One Man's Junk Is Another Man's Gold.

again agree 100% the difference is physical media can survive in an ultra niche market and even in a "dead" market (people can listen to their 8-tracks or watch their laserdiscs if they want). virtual media cannot.
Once you finally realize the fact that SVOD/AVOD is the replacement for Pay-TV (CBL/SAT/TELCOM) it will no longer be necessary for you or anyone else on this thread to compare them to physical media. They are as different as Oranges and Sushi.

The real "format war" is physical media versus Digital EST & VOD.

I noticed on my 2 week "vacation" it was you who continued to update that thread John. If it's not important, then why did you do that?

Sure when all of you stop comparing Streaming to Physical Media. You go first.

Speaking of format wars, their used to be the PC vs Mac debate until both sides realized that steady sales of both PC and Macs, showed that its neither format will be declared the outright winner any time soon.

This pick a side (which we know what you lean to) just illustrates how it isn't weekly sales of this versus that drives people to what they choose to be entertained but what is more appealing to the public for news, music and films/TV. It's in this manner that future trends to how we are entertained is of interest not streaming versus media especially when the public reaches that point they can't stand to be in their homes anymore after vaccinations have progressed considerably. Todays stuck in house hold lifestyles is not forever, but we still need to get though a few more months.

I did it as a courtesy to others that follow your Home Video Sales Thread postings, but if you got jealous oh well.

Not at. Thankful that someone else cared to take the time and effort to post the updates.

Just wish it had been someone instead of you.

The complaint is your constant barrage of sales post in this thread, sales info should be posted in the sales thread.

OK - I will make you a deal Wendall. No more sales number posting in this thread from me. You - have to stop calling Streaming "Pay-TV."

Have we got a deal?

OH . . . by the way . . . how do remotes fit in this thread? That belongs in Home Theater General Discussion Sub-Forum

No, I call Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max and others in that category pay TV because I have to pay for them. If I stop paying for any of them they stop my access, exactly the the same as when I had HBO via DirecTV or Dish Network.

In 3 months Phineous has spent $120 and got 12 new movies. Suzy spends $120 and gets an entire year of Disney+. The existing available library plus 12 new monthly additions.

Phineous is stuck rewatching content while Suzy enjoys watching new content all year . . . for the same price.
Suzy can get Disney+ for just $69.99 per year if she pays for that year up front; that's just 19.2 cents per day. It is an undeniable bargain that many find to be irresistible.

It is New Year's Day and it would be really nice to begin the new year without needless provocations. We can do better than this if we just make a little effort.

In case anyone does not know, many members here, myself included make Blu-ray.COM possible because we click on disc titles and purchase thru Amazon and in doing so this site should receive a small percentage of that sale.

Quote:
Affiliate links

Blu-ray.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Blu-ray.com is a participant in the Amazon Europe S.a.r.l. Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr and Amazon.it.
There are some here that a free loaders and do nothing to support this site. Others just come here looking for low cost codes from disc so they do not support this site nor the content owners and outright lie stating they own the disc when they do not.

The good part is most members are probably enthusiast and care about all aspects of home entertainment and home theater. Off box!
