I know I don't have to but I've tried so many times to like Blade Runner. Just don't get the appeal of it. I like sci-fi, I like film noir but Blade Runner just goes over my head. Maybe I should watch the theatrical cut because I've only see the final cut.

If you don't get the final cut I would advise you to give up. The theatrical cut will most likely ruin any chance of you ever appreciating it. It perhaps it'll make you realise how much better the final cut is, make you want to revisit that cut AGAIN and maybe you'll like it THEN haha. I doubt that though. There's plenty of classics I just didn't enjoy so meh.

You're right, I don't. I watched the first episode and I didn't really like it, but I'll probably try watching it again when I have time. I'm not a big fan of fantasy or shows during that time period though.

You are missing out. The fantasy aspect of the show is just the setting. The writing is what sets is apart, as well as the acting. This isn't your parent's TV show, it often breaks convention and goes in places you wouldn't expect. I"d highly recommend it, but if you are going to watch it do yourself a big favor and don't wander into any threads, twitter feeds, etc as there are major spoilers floating out there.

I always found it boring, medieval mumbo jumbo is all the same to me...but then I don't really like series television (can't commit to a show if I don't know if it is going to end, been pissed off by too many of my fave shows being cancelled)

Anywhoo, I'm curious what the shipping times for Amazon are like now that they're half-assing it (unless you pony up for Prime that is)?

They're actually better than before. My last 3 orders came in 2 days with Free Super Saver Shipping and one of them was a 80 lb crib - insane!

I can second that... I put in an order last Tuesday night and had it Friday with Free Super Saver Shipping -- that's lightspeed by past standards!

Not long ago I got a "free shipping" order in slightly less than 24 hours. There was a period when UPS would bring a lot of orders, but lately it's been Canada Post. It seems that free shipping speeds are back to the way they were for years, or even a bit faster.

Awesome, so whats the benefit of Prime again? Does it arrive seconds after you hit "confirm order" or something?
