Not weird at all. Can one assume you have Max?

If 14 of that 17 is bad then having 17 does not mean very much. I've paid up thru early June at a discount. Will determine then to continue or not. Also discontinued Disney+ and scaled back at Netflix.

Even If HBO Max saw triple in comparison to a typical day in the previous month with WW84 being available, once you move past this initial viewing of WW84 will a large number of people that were using some cheap way to access HBO Max remain subscribers? Thats the real question. Disney did really well with Soul comparing reviews between both films.

Not at all, the real question concerns whether wagging a box office title like WW84 will cause HBO Max to be attractive to subscribers in the long run. Right now a lot probably use a 14 day free HBO Max pass from BB or something like that. Then they likely cancel. Its all about a streaming host actually maintaining subscribers. You cannot tell anyone that HBO Max will be that successful right now, which is exactly why that the marketplace isn't simply accepting their 17 movie ploy.

The critics were not ecstatic about WW84 BTW.

The biggest question is going to be whether HBO Max starts to re-transcode any of their existing HBO/Warner/DC/TCM content to 4K separate from the 17 they plan to offer as 4K HDR? Its was looked as a joke compared to others services, let me know how that changes as you watch them the next 6 months.

I'm aware of the blu-ray, but it's not on my wishlist (or do I have any desire to buy the BD). But I would love if the show can find it's way back to Prime Video, or Netflix.

Again, I like the shows, but it's not on my list or do I have a strong love for it that I want to buy it on BD.

Redeem the digital code on MoviesAnywhere in 4K since you have bought the 4K media, each service provider will allow payback in 4K if they support it on a UDTV if you link the accounts to MovieAnywhere.

No, I meant just buy the highest quality version UHD disc that comes with the Blu-ray and stop worrying about resolution problems? I noticed later you already have the 4K disc and I was confused over why you care so much about the digital version?

I think the only safe bets are Netflix and Disney+ (Who are about to add Fox content in Europe). All the rest? Amazon will stick around but wouldn’t be too sure about the rest.

What the critics said doesn't mean much. it quadrupled their subscriptions and once the general public learns that if they want to watch The Matrix and Dune and a ton of promising looking indies they will stay subscribed.

Theaters are opened here and no one is going. But they will watch them at home.

I see, and as I've previously stated. I've already got a UHD version on Vudu, and I can confirmed a 1080p version on Apple Itunes. I've already synchronized as I stated on my previous posts:

See. So I would need a UHDTV to playback my Jaws on 4K from Vudu.

I see, I guess you didn't read my post when I announced that I got my first 4K UHD BD purchase. The reason I cared and talked about the digital version because I want to give my observation to people who are planning to buy or input their digital code for their digital copy of their movies they bought with their BD (regular or 4K UHD).

Also I like to analyze and give my observation on this thread to compare the resolution and picture/video quality between the digital version and the 4K UHD BD/regular BD version. I mean isn't this the purpose of this thread. To not only discuss, but to give observation and trade analysis of the quality of the digital version of the movie, and do comparison between digital and the blu-ray version? That's what I was doing, giving my observation, giving my analysis, and including evidences (like my screenshots/pictures) to verify my analysis and observation.

As I said, I don't have anything digital copies, but they tend to lack stuff that your BD version has.

It was watched by 1/2 of HBO Max subscribers on Christmas, unless WW84 has staying power for maintaining subscribers you can't predict the services success.

The Panasonic was ordered on Monday and showed up Wednesday, so have had a few days to put it through its paces. There are more adjustments available than the Oppo so am getting it dialed in for both 4K and Blu-rays before I do the final A/B comparison, but I am very impressed so far. The last 2 subs in the back of the room are done breaking in, so I spent an hour yesterday tweaking their placement.

I think I should be all set for Tenet.

I felt it was related to point out that theaters numbers show interest for watching WW84 dipped quickly. Just because its on a subscription service doesn't mean people played it numerous times. Lots of things I watch are just once.

Regarding businessinsider article
Quote:
For its debut weekend, "Wonder Woman 1984" generated 4.3 times the amount of signups as the average for the previous three weekends in December, according to Antenna
what the data represents.

Daily sign-ups for Disney+ and HBO Max. ANTENNA

Note: ANTENNA’s data includes only net new HBO Max sign-ups and not activations
Thats not quadrupled their subscriptions is it? Its Daily signups, now the question is how many of those people that signed up are using 2 week free or something similar? How many will be using HBO Max a few months from now?

Dumb comparison either way. And to answer your question. None. They stopped the the 7 day trial 3 weeks before WW84.

The 2 week free trial from Best Buy was available at the time WW84 dropped on HBO Max.

I have considered buying a Panny 9000, too. Please let us know what you think of its performance with all disc formats. I have read on the forums here a long while back that the Panny 4K disc players do not play DVDs as well as other brands of 4K disc players and I would very much like to know what you think of how well the Panny 9000 handles DVDs.

You do realise big budget blockbusters can’t survive without the cinema long term, right? This is a short term situation.

One of my black Friday disc purchases from Best Buy came with a 2 week HBO code which I used to watch WW84 and half of an episode of a series about a ditzy flight stewardess.

HBO thinks they have more I want but I unsubscribed from their email list this AM.

I used to use a friends HBO account and noticed they tend to have a lot of things I tend to buy ... so, like the Disney+ its one of the services I would maybe use if I didn't tend to collect movies.

I am thankful Game of Thrones and Stranger Things are available as UHD purchases and I can't bring myself to use my friends Netflix account to watch Cobra Kai so I will see if that's available on disc as well. (I think it is.)

Default Go Green - Dump streaming

Seems steaming is bad for the environment. (also the quality stinks)

The problem: transferring videos online is data-intensive. In 2018, online video traffic was responsible for more than 300 million tons of CO2, equivalent to what a country the size of Spain releases in a year — for all sectors combined. The higher a video's resolution, the more data that's required. Ten hours of high-definition film consumes more bits and bytes than all the English-language articles in Wikipedia put together, according to The Shift Project.

https://www.dw.com/en/is-netflix-bad...nge/a-49556716

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/2...n-as-you-think

https://www.ecowatch.com/netflix-bad...639174138.html

It is generally the poor quality that keeps me from Steaming most of the time but I can be happy I am doing good for the world in general by continuing to collect movies on disc.
