Criterion posted a picture of La Jetee on their Facebook recently. Let's hope that means some Marker on Blu!

Oh, and I'm not too crazy for Something Wild and Fat Girl for the May releases. Everything else I cannot wait for.

Fat Girl was one of the releases I was very excited to see..... I think all of her films are brilliant, and don't understand why people dismiss them.

FYI everyone, I'm unloading most of my criterion collection to help pay for my new projector.

Lots of titles, most are $22 each or 4 for $80. All are open but in pristine condition.

The ending of Fat Girl is very polarizing, and with something like that people will most likely either find it silly or brilliant.

Just got Chungking Express off ebay for about $25. Have watched it once before in a class about 2 years ago.

Nah, it's not out of print. I bought it at BN a few months ago and it had a plastic case.

does anyone happen to know if any Rohmer was included in the MGM deal? As far as I know Pauline at the Beach and a few others were put out on DVD by MGM.

Not in the first wave of titles (Jeff at CForum actually asked them the 1st time around and they pretty much said no), but some believe they went back for another batch and that could very well be one (Pauline at the Beach). No one knows for sure.

So far, I believe these are the only MGM titles announced or confirmed (someone add if I forgot one):

The Fugitive Kind
Paths of Glory
The Night of the Hunter
Sweet Smell of Success
Kes
Blow Out
Something Wild
Kiss Me Deadly

and The Killing coming. I don't know if they even went for non-English language films to be honest.

Alright, thanks! Oh, and Y Tu Mama Tambien might be the only non-English addition to the list if that was an MGM acquisition (MGM handled DVD release, IFC handled Theatrical).

Allegedly these are in production, too:

Pasolini's Trilogy of Life
The French Lieutenant's Woman

These directors are NOT part of the deal :/

Allen
Almodóvar
Altman
Bergman
Boetticher
The Goldwyn Library
Lynch
Peckinpah
Rudolph
Truffaut
Wilder

My Criterion Triple Feature is being processed for shipping right now:

The Sweet Smell of Success
Charade
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. So excited! Criterion Blus are fantastic.

It was before them going "all-blu" on their spine releases, hence also why Dillinger is Dead (A Janus release), the Pialat film, etc wasn't either. So in short, they could of, been they didn't want to put it out on blu-ray.

Thankfully we're past the "it might not get a blu release" period. Can't believe Close-up was almost dvd-only.

We need more Lumet on Blu-Ray. Here in the UK only Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is out but I know that Network, Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico are also out.
