first time they've ever won @ Penn State if i remember reading correctly. that's insanity. luckily Wisconsin will stay ahead of them in the polls and should win the Big Ten. no reason for Ohio State to be ahead them since, you know, Wisconsin beat them, but it looks like it's going that way. shocking since the polls always seem to want Ohio State in a big game *gag*
and next year you'll have a championship game!

just another danger of college football.

if it's halftime and the score 10-10 and then one team wins 70-10 it looks great.
if a team is up 70-10 and the final score is 70-58 or something, it looks bad.

some may think that type of stuff isn't taken into account, but i believe it does. especially with human voters. WISC putting up 83 the other week and now 70 today looks damn more impressive than winning 24-13 or something like that. especially considering they're a power running team, not a highly flying offense like USC / Florida of a few years ago.

and another reason to have a fun playoff imo

I wonder if TCU is a lock to make the title game should Oregon or Auburn lose their final game. Coming into this week these were the BCS rankings with their result this weekend.

1. Oregon - .9764 - d. #21 Arizona by 19, still has to play Oregon St.
2. Auburn - .9682 - d. #11 Alabama by 1, still has to play South Carolina
3. TCU - .8995 d. New Mexico (1-11 record) by 49
4. Boise St. - .8860 - lost #19 Nevada by 3
5. LSU - .8193 - lost #12 Arkansas by 8

6. Stanford - .7763 - leading Oregon St. by 31
7. Wisconsin - .7688 - d. Northwestern by 47

Obviously Boise St. and LSU will fall out of the picture and Stanford and Wisconsin will be the big winners. The question is how close will they get to TCU. Both Stanford and Wisconsin are beating decent teams by big margins today while TCU beat a terrible 1-11 NMSU team, which surely will hurt their strength of schedule. It seems highly unlikely Stanford of Wisconsin could jump past TCU but maybe not a guarantee. You never know what could happen with the computer rankings that practically nobody understands.

And at this point what would you want to see for the title game? Oregon vs. Auburn or for one to lose and possibly play TCU?

What a disaster for the Canes losing to USF to finish 7-5 for the year. Surely Randy Shannon won't survive as head coach after this mess.

I guess you said it, he got fired today. Thank goodness. I couldn't stand him. I wanted him fired after the Canes were embarrassed by Virginia in their last game ever at the old Orange Bowl. I guess it was only a matter of time. I hope they get a top notch coach this time.

The Ohio State hatred on this board is laughable at times(well all the time for certain posters).Anyway it's pretty simple why Ohio State and Wisconsin are ahead of MSU:

Wisky 31 @ Iowa 30
OSU 20 @ Iowa 17
MSU 6 @ Iowa 37.

That is the common denominator between the 3 teams.

I know some Buckeye hater will come on here and spit out 'well OSU is overrated' and 'OSU doesn't deserve' and 'I don't have any reason why OSU doesn't deserve it other than I just hate OSU so much'

Wisconsin beat Ohio State, Michigan State beat Wisconsin, I wonder which of the 3 is really the best in the Big 10.

Yeah they really need to clean house and start over, I think they've kept looking in-house for coaches since Larry was there.

I'd be stoked if I was a Canes fan they can finally rebuild lol.

You have to think Dan Mullen is going to be someone they go after, he's completely turned around Mississippi State in only two years. He's a very bright offensive mind who is a protege of Meyer.

Yeah I could see him wanting to leave there. lol 3 games better then the terps since 2007 shouldn't let you keep your job at a program as great as Miami's

With as much talent on the team and being in a perfect recruiting area, it will be a very attractive opening. As with any marquee program there is a ton of pressure to win, but that's football. It'll be pretty ironic if Miami goes 11-1 next year and wins the ACC.

Oh you were talking about Miami because that should be the terps record next year

Maybe in five to ten years my friend, but next year, highly unlikely.

I say get Urban Meyer down here, he seemed to be ready to leave UF anyway.

He wont leave unless he retires lol,

I think a sleeper in this could be Mike Leach... I'd be jumping for joy if he came to MD.

Also there is allot of depth out there Schiano might be a good option although I question his ability to come in recruit the way a Leach could. But I doubt an NFL guy like Gruden/Cowher would come I think the last numbers I read was he was making 3 or 4 million a year gossiping on MNF so why leave that gig,

Tuberville might be a good choice too he's dealt with high profile teams.

I think I'd rather have someone with a lot more experience and a more proven track record coaching the Canes than Mullen. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good fit, but there would be a whole lot pressure on him to win right away, and who knows if he's ready for that. Plus, it seems like he's got a good thing going on over there (at M-State), turning that program around. So, who knows if he'd leave that right now anyway.

I'd argue it hasn't even really turned around yet lol.

Who would you like to see as the next Miami head coach? Everyone is talking about Richt, but my concern about him is he's never taken Georgia all the way even though he has had some really talented rosters. He's a Miami guy, and I think he runs a clean program. He would certainly be an upgrade over Shannon, but I still want Mullen. His upside is through the roof.
