Same here! We totally lucked out on this. Now if those June/July preorders would just go down somewhere. I'm getting spoiled.

I just tagged Criterion on facebook. Will I be in on future sales like this? Did you have to order a lot of titles?

June/July were all pre-ordered via Amazon.
Yeah Beta! I have four movies shipping 05/24 at $15.98 each,

The Great Dictator, Sweet Smell of Success, Bigger Than Life, and Summer Hours for $63.92.

You are right, that facebook thing was such a spoiler for me. I refuse to pre-order anything unless its under $20. I hope all those people that pre-ordered Blow-Out at $26 or so get that $19 price. But then again, that would not be out of the ordinary for Amazon to screw them. I was tempted at that price, but will wait for my $16 pre-order in a few weeks.

The sales are always posted online. You don't have to be a member of Facebook or Twitter or any other social-networking entity to take advantage of any of the sales that Criterion has had recently. There's no elite membership involved to take advantage of the sales.

The recent 'Facebook sale" was because Criterion finally reached 50,000 "likes," or whatever, on Facebook. However, the sale was open to anyone, and everyone, that bought something through Criterion's website. There was no minimum of titles to buy, but you do have to pay for shipping on anything less than $50 on Criterion's site.

You didn't have to order anything. I pre-ordered 12 titles at that $16 price. It really was one of the best deals I have seen on CC releases, besides that $16 price for The Third Man a few years ago..

Well I jumped on the "America Lost and Found." While there are some amazing films in this box set, I have to be totally honest... the main reason I've wanted this since the day it was released, was for "Head."

I finally upgrade on The Double Life of Veronique and it goes on sale not a week later...figures. Oh well, that was worth it at just about any price.

Thanks. Ah yes, the shipping. Since I'm amzn prime that makes a difference, and it's why I order pretty much everything from them. But for prices like that it might be worth it to get to $50.

I'm sorry if this has been answered 100 times already, but my order for Blow out shipped yesterday at $26.99. This seems like a pretty raw deal for me that the price drops to 18.99 the very next day. Is there anything I can do about this? Will Amazon match that price if I ask them?

Nope.... The pre-order price guarantee works if they lower the price prior to release date/shipping, but not after......

I'm not sure how it's a raw deal really.... when you placed the order for it at $27, were you not willing to pay $27 for it?

Why don't you contact Amazon about it? We are not Amazon representatives. Amazon has a pretty darn easy Help section that allows you to contact them either via e-maiil, phone, or chat.

To answer your question, though... according to Amazon's policy, you should get the price adjustment in some for or fashion, but it can take 24-48 hours.

What can you tell me about those films John? I've thought about it for a while.

Going to wait until I get home to make a decison to buy SOMETHING! Just not sure of what yet?

Yeah I am willing to pay $27 so maybe it isn't technically a raw deal. But do you really not understand how something like this is bothersome? All those preorders that ship out on Monday and Amazon drops the price $8 the very next day? C'mon.

According to the Amazon representative I spoke to this morning, it takes 24-48 hours for the adjustment to take effect.

I was told that I'd get the adjustment. I've never had a problem getting an adjustment if the price changes on the actual release day. That's how I've always read their policy. Now, if the price drops any lower tomorrow, then you wouldn't get the adjustment.

Oh.... Blow Out's release date is today. I didn't realize that, then "yes" he'll get the adjustment, and should just wait.

Sure, I contacted them via email. I was just wondering if others had some experience in this area considering the insane traffic here. Thanks for your help.
