I had never checked ebay for steels until just now, I don't know why I never even thought of it .... and so many of them are dirt cheap [especially compared to when buying direct from zavvi for example] ... is there any particular reason as to why people here are going the zavvi route instead?
[for example a listing i just saw end was for the hercules steel for $5.xx ... compared to the 19 pounds you'd have to dish for it direct from zavvi]

am i missing something, or the prices too good to be true and they'll come all crappy condition or something, is that why?

Hercules for $5 is surely a damaged one. Read the description and look at the pics closely. A lot of the members here sell their damaged Zavvis on ebay.

Question

What is the point of nonsense like this??
Green Lantern SB - 12K+

Saw about 3 newly listed items, along these lines...
This, Sherlock Holmes 2, and IIRC Gran Torino.

who in their right mind is going to pay thousands for a pretty standard SB? I guess i just don't get the point of even listing it knowing full-well nobody is going to be buying it....

[[[posted in Deal Thread ... because lack of a better place to ask. And the seller is generously offering $5 off ]]]

edit: this is even more enticing Million Dollar SB anyone??

Yesssss!!

The Wolf of Wall Street has finally dropped in price!!

It's down to only £14.99 ($24.49) !!

Can you tell how excited I am!!!

http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/the-wol.../10908535.html

It's not a cheap deal, but for a steelbook this nice, I think it's a great deal.

Hey man, since they went back to the white boxes I haven't had so much as a scratch on 12 steelbooks in a row. Of course I just jinxed myself though.

I know. I have ordered at least 100 steels from zavvi to new york and only one was damaged and it had to v for vendetta limited. Had to buy one from blu steel on ebay who is the best steel seller. Amazon uk is another story. I have returned over 12 due to massive damage and amazon.ca I have never received a non damaged one

My problem is what they do with the Steels before they put them into the boxes

Yeah, luckily I've dodged that bullet for the most part. Back when they were using the brown envelopes I had one that looked like someone played soccer with it, but the envelope itself was perfect.

Yeah, my Raiders of the Lost Ark was crushed along the bottom, but the white shipping box itself was pristine with no visible damage at all. Bastards!

Really?!

Amazon UK are perfect for me. The once or twice something has been damaged (hardly ever) they had no problem with instant refunds/replacements. Their packaging is well over the top too (which is good!)

Zavvi...well they are getting better - only took a week for a refund last time which is better than the 2+ weeks of nagging that it used to take. And as someone else pointed out, the damaged steels seem to be damaged before they actually send them!

Once Upon a Time in America UK steel is down to a more reasonable level now - £17.87.
