Well, let's be frank, Guardians of the Galaxy is technically the prequel to Avengers 3. They don't really need a post-credit sequence to lead to Avengers 3. We're getting a two hour movie for it.

Well, if you want to get real technical, all the Marvel movies are prequels to Avengers 3. That never stopped them from giving us stingers before. Besides, we may even get a Guardians 2 before Avengers 3, just to give us even more of a set up for all the cosmic Thanos stuff.

We'll get a whole other Guardians film before Avengers 3. That'll be the real Avengers 3 prequel, using Thanos as the villain. Just my speculation based on all the info we've gotten, but I'd say it's pretty sound...

Oh, I know Guardians 2 is coming. But, this really is the first film to get us going towards Avengers 3. Avengers teased. Guardians lays the foundation. Guardians 2 will be the set up. Avengers 3 BETTER be the payoff.

That happened to me too when I saw Planet of the Apes in Cinemark XD. I'm wondering the same thing.

Saw the film last night I'd give it 9 out of 10 almost as good if not as good as Winter Soldier, Groot as predicted is the true breakout character of the film and was awesome also Drax was great. The 3D was also fantastic quite a few pop out moments great depth. The Stinger was NOT included and is being cut from all prints till opening day,

Thanos had 2 speaking parts, where ronan is talking to him and he looks great (josh brolin motion capture), and they showed a few things that true comic fans will pick up on when they talk about the infinity gems. I also didn't see/hear Nathan Fillion but he might have been in the background ,

Fillion is in the prison break scene. He's the big alien they encounter.

I'm not watching ANY trailers but the first 2-3 teaser/trailers and just sticking my fingers in my ears. too much media makes me feel I'd spoil the whole movie

James Gunn Comments On Post-Credits Tag For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Quote:
"Oh we have a post-credit sequence for you!"

"Oh, do we ever! Yes, well we are connected, first of all we are connected…because of certain characters…but we have a post-credit sequence that’s all our own! That in all honestly we have just been doing the past few days so I think it’s going to be a great deal of fun for people."

"You don’t even want to know what it is! Pure joy, pure joy, that’s two words!"

Do the Guardians of the Galaxy have a strong following in terms of comic readers?

I believe it's one of the small-but-rabidly-loyal fanbases.

I'm glad that Marvel is dedicated to keeping these under wraps. Just thinking about the possibilities of what it could be is exciting.

I really do love these mid/post credits tags, especially when they're not related to the film you just watched. And it's even better when it's a complete surprise.

Yeah I think I've already seen to much and spoiled a lot lol!

But I know or at least think I will still massively enjoy this movie, because the cast is so versatile. (best one imho since The Avengers)

I plan to watch it in theater in 3D (skip booze for a week), and love every minute of it. Then look for crappy cams until the 3D Blu-Ray is up for pre-order. Then watch it like a 100 times by the end of the year after buying the 3d blu ray.

I'm new to the party, but I recently got a bundle of GotG comics and enjoyed them. It's psyched me for the movie even more.
