Flying to the Canary Islands tomorrow. A lot of firsts for me with this trip.

First Transatlantic flight. Longest flight I've been on was 5 hours (San Fran to Newark). At 7 hrs 41 minutes to Spain, then 2:30 to the Islands, I'm not looking forward to spending so much time on planes.

First time to experience jet lag. Spain is 6 hours ahead of NY. I have no idea what to expect.

First time handling Euro. Thankfully the US Dollar and the Euro are almost the same in value so I don't have to worry about being confused.

How exciting!

Congrats. I took my first real transatlantic flight 15 years ago from Nashville to Paris (Paris was the filthiest city I've ever seen). And then to Rome from Paris. Finally heading back to Nashville from Rome. I couldn't do that again without heavy, HEAVY sedation. My restless leg condition has gotten so bad that I can barely sit for two hours in a movie theater. Heck, I can't even sit for a few hours at work without having to be sedated slightly. I'm lucky to travel to FL or CA these days. It's the worst. There are days I wish I didn't have these legs.

I'm bracing myself. It's an overnight flight so I'll likely doze off at some point but I snore so I feel like I'll be a burden to my fellow passengers. Definitely need an aisle seat for my frequent bathroom trips. I hope they feed us on this flight. I haven't had a meal served on a plane since the 90's since most have been short flights. All of this is part of the fun, though.

I never liked late/night shifts. Fortunately, I had early shifts the last 12 years I worked and I still keep an early schedule.

So the ice maker in my fridge stopped making ice. I thought that perhaps the line froze due to the crazy temps we've had. The water line comes from the basement but we still get water coming out and it's just a single line, so she aint frozen.

Sucks because the fridge isn't that old. Whirlpool...never again.

Google is telling me it's likely a faulty ice maker assembly. Prolly cost $250 to have a guy come out and change it.

What's cool is it will still spit out ice if I dump it in the bucket inside the door. Interesting work-around but I'll have to start buying ice.

Ice makers are always a fridge weak point. Worse in any maker that isn't stored in the freezer (i.e. bottom freezer fridges). I've always avoided them.

Going to bed, for some reason none of the outlets in the kitchen work. Guessing my niece did something to them.

Most likely the breaker; just turn it back on.

I tried flipping the breakers, it did nothing.

If you have the space, ice cube trays are an easy workaround.

If you're in a newer home it's possible you have GFI receptacles which have a built in breaker (reset) button.

It's kinda old and the wiring is faulty, my niece is a...special person so she probably did something you're not supposed to do and messed up the outlets. Let's see her try to blame me for it lol.

My apartment went dark one night after I had two A/Cs running. The breakers did nothing. It was late Friday night so I was worried I’d messed something up and didn’t know what to do. Texted my Super hoping for the best but I was expecting to stay in the dark until morning but my lights came back on about an hour later. He must’ve fixed something in the basement. He never said a peep about it.

Delivering in Williamsburg went a bit better than last time, partially because it was 97 stops instead of 120 but I still don't like rural routes much lol.
