I'm only posting this possible bit of rumor/info on the UCE of the trilogy next year from this site because of the access said person has had over the years during the production of the Dark Knight Trilogy. If he dropped this tip, he did it on purpose....

Per the review; "Even though I received the Blu-ray edition of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES free for reviewing purposes, I would have bought it myself regardless. All the extras – especially THE BATMOBILE – make it well worth purchasing and adding to your Bat-collection. The only thing missing is a “Director’s Commentary” – you know how Mr. Nolan is, right? HOWEVER…

A little birdie told me we may be getting such a thing next year for all 3 films of the Trilogy."

Take from it whatever you will, but from following his site for a few years, we might have something here.

That would make the UCE Trilogy worth it, IMHO.

Yeah. I had pretty much decided to crack and just buy the trilogy box set when it hits in a week but if this comes to pass, yeah, the UCE is the way to go.

Plus, it's not like amazon won't have the trilogy set that gets release in a week available next summer.

I follow Jett too. His information is accurate. There will be a trilogy release next year. I would expect a package that possibly has deleted scenes, but people should not get their hopes up. Almost everything that was shot was put into the film. They spent time refining the story prior to shooting the film. If anything, the deleted scenes will be alternate takes. There is a rumor of a scene about Bane's mask. Hmmm...

I was also wondering this. I went on Black Friday and asked the guy at customer service and he said that the only way to pre-order it was to do so online. I'm really mad at these people now. They answer things with complete confidence and give me the runaround because they don't feel like asking someone who might know. Why do I even go to Best Buy anymore? Oh, that's right...

The deleted scenes I'm not concerned about. Nolan fine tunes his films at the script stage and not in the editing room. As you said, it'll be alternate takes or moments that extended scenes that are already in the film. We won't get whole new scenes if they included any new footage for the set next year.

But, commentaries? That would be pretty huge, if included....

Commentaries would be nice, but I still maintain we need new transfers of the first two for me to bite...

I was gonna wait for the UCE, but I couldn't resist. I just keep telling myself that in the grand scheme of things, $30 ain't the end of the world. I'll pick up the UCE if the difference is significant.

That's what I've been saying since amazon listed that price. But, I still haven't actually hit the preorder button. It's in the cart.

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe the only edition of BB is still on 1 disc and the same encode from the HD DVD! For such epic films.. We could use some more pristine versions!

I'm confused, what is in the store for pre-order? Is it the Steelbook itself?

Just left Best Buy, they have no clue about preorder or the Reborn digital doc. Tried to make me pay $29.99 for preorder but didn't know how to activate digital content. I explained this to 2 people that work there and even showed them the ad.

It'll be less at release. Likely $22.99 or $24.99

I won't get the Steelbook until it's under $20. I have no doubt it will be one day seeing as how the others always go on sale.

Yep and Best Buy will adjust the price if you pre-ordered, so you only get charged $24.99 at release.
