It was also worth the 25.99 price. Canadian Criterion prices are offensive! Broadcast News, which I got for the sale price, is literally 20 dollars more, while The Leopard, is currently 16 dollars more. When I bought it for the sale price, it was 25 dollars more! Canadians are getting hosed.
Yeah the Canadian prices are insane...i picked up Blow Out, M and Broadcast News with this sale. Actually picked up Fear and Loathing from the Canadian site since they had it down at $24.

Hoping that amazon.com decides to put some of their other Criterion Blu on sale...i noticed a bunch of them dropped from the $30 range to $25...hopefully they go a bit lower in the coming days :-)

Any ideas or theories on what the next CC blu-ray to go OOP might be?

Tough to say. I don't know how one would determine that. I could see Chungking going out of print at some point. Or maybe Red Desert. Everyone seems to forget about that one.

Do OOP titles ever return to in-print status?

I would love to see some ole OOP titles get re-released on blu...

Well, it was my birthday yesterday, and I received the following titles from my parents:
- Au Revoir Les Enfants
- Army of Shadows
- Crumb
- Sweet Smell of Success
- The Night of the Hunter

Overall, a nice haul, I would say. Cannot wait to watch them all, especially Night of the Hunter.

Will the announcements be on Friday or Saturday? (Sunday falls on the 15th).

Can't believe it's almost "Christmas" time again for us

I may pull the trigger on the AE Certified Copy if Criterion doesn't announce it later this week.

Hasn't it typically been that if it's on a weekend, they usually do it the following Monday? I know every now and then if it's on a Saturday they will on Friday, but usually it falls on Monday. All I know is I hope it's a light month.

If it's going to be a light month they might as well get Tiny Furniture out of the way (if rumor is correct).

It has been known to happen (recently The Naked Kiss and Shock Corridor returned to the collection after being OOP for years), but there is no telling what and when something might return to the collection.

Didn't they post announcements on Friday the 13th the last time we had one?

I had to cancel Blow Out due to financial reasons that ended up being OK but it was too late to re-order. FML.

I have been impressed with the two Artificial Eye BD's that I own. (White Material and Hidden) They seem to be on par with the best that Europe has to offer in home video these days.

After some research, I'd have to say Tiny Furniture would be a pass for me if/when Criterion add the title to the collection. (Just not my cup of tea, so to speak)

I ended up just getting the UK import of Certified Copy because of the rumors of Criterion passing. the Artificial Eye release is quite nice; worth the price of importing.

I think it'll be Breathless. Quite a few of Godard's films have gone OOP, and this one has a Studio Canal release in Europe already.

This is only tangentially related to Criterion, so I apologize, but I know that a lot you stream Netflix and I am hoping you can help me out, especially since some of you might have watched this film.

I normally stream through my blu-ray player, and I have never really had a problem. However, I have been trying to watch Kubrick's Killer's Kiss, and every time I do it tells me that it can't connect to the internet. The strange thing is every thing else that I try works. In other words, apparently there is something about Killer's Kiss that makes it think the internet is unavailable. Has anyone else tried to watch this film with any success? Or have you ever experienced a similar problem?

Also, has anyone else found problem with aspect ratio on streaming Netflix films? I was going to watch Something Wild on streaming, but apparently it is not widescreen, which seems odd to me.

I just ran a test for you...

I was able to stream it from my wireless laptop and from my Wii. No problems at all and it appears that the aspect ration of 1.37 to 1 has been maintained.

Thanks a bunch for checking for me guys. I filled out their online "report a problem" form, but maybe I will look for a way to give a more specific response. It is strange, I have never had this happen before, and I have been trying this film for about a week with no luck. Oh well, hopefully it will get a release someday so I don't have to worry

As for Something Wild, maybe I will just have to pick it up during the next sale...

Quite a few things on netflix have been known to be cropped. And Something Wild is a Starz title (notorious for having terrible quality streaming content) so it makes sense that it's pan and scan from them.
