The last Jurassic Park “Dominion. Not the strongest 3D by any means but still some nice depth and the inside shots can look excellent at times. We enjoy All the movies this one included.

I had no intention of ever watching Dominion. But I bought it as my little way to support Turbine's efforts in securing 3D titles. Using DD+ Atmos was a mistake, especially when the ordinary 2D blu-ray had DTS:x. But hopefully Turbine will never do that again, at least not without a better reason.

Anyway the 3D was fine and I enjoyed the movie.

finished watching Meet the Robinsons 3D last weekend, couple little pop out moments but found the 3D and depth to be generally lacking. on top of that the animation looked like Nickelodeon tv show quality. Not terrible over all but can't foresee giving it another watch anytime soon.

while I was on timeout from the board I picked up a used copy of Frankenweenie on ebay for $9 shipped. gonna give it a watch soon since its the Halloween season.

last week I was in LA for work and made time to finally visit Ameoba Records and man what a treat. I picked up a sealed Beowulf (Japan import) for $40, cheaper than used prices I was watching on ebay.
Also picked up a used copy of The Great Wall (German import) for only $13. I have read lots of reviews saying the movie is a bit of a mess but the 3D is great.

I could've spent more time and money in the store but needed to limit myself on this trip. there were some other rare and import titles I am going to pick up when I stop in again next month. If you ever have a chance to visit the store, you really should. They catalog everything meticulously.

Frankenweenie 3D is similar to Meet the Robinsons but, my Sony Blu-ray player has an option that allows you to increase the 3D so the popouts look at lot better.

The Great Wall is a serviceable movie, I recall the 3D in the main menu being stronger than most of the film's. But definitely a stronger than average Bronze Age flick IMO.

There's been a few movies that didn't review well but I thoroughly enjoyed including, Priest, John Carter and Great Wall. The story is of course silly but duh! It has fun characters, great visuals and excellent Atmos audio. Also don't listen to JD3D about the 3D because it's actually very good

Nah, it's only OK. All y'all gild the lily too often on here, have to remember that not everyone has the finely tuned setup, and the great "Dredd Divide" about personal perception

In 60+ years, people aren't going to remember the 3D in this fondly like they do House of Wax.

I actually saw Priest and John Carter in 3D (the latter in IMAX) in the theater. JC is actually one of the ones I plan on picking up next month if its still there. I know Priest is always on sale online so I will pick it up at some point I am sure.

thanks for all the feedback in thread to everybody, feels good to be back in the 3D game.

I agree with you in this one. I think the 3D in Dredd is similar to Need for Speed (and to a lesser extent Gravity). The 3D works well enough and does the job, but if you love the movie then the 3D might seem a little better than it really is. I was a little like that with Man of Steel except I knew the 3D wasn't great. But then my setup improved enough that certain scenes in 3D caught up to my impressions of them

Thanks, I think I’ll rewatched John Carter, loved the movie, the 3D and the soundtrack!

There's a scene of tossing a shield down a hallway that was interesting, but as I recall it also plays on the main menu. It's a scene that slows down a bit to let the 3D action breathe, as is too often the case, many of what could be strong 3D shots are sped through in the film itself.

A while back this forum was revisiting this title, and a 3D review video was posted. It had a sequence gushing about a scene where a medieval weapon pops out of a window, and in the video this scene was shown in a slow panning shot to help convey the 3D effect. That one sticks with me because in the film itself it is a "blink and you miss it" scene, so the 3D can't really be appreciated in the moment while watching the film.

I saw this with GI Joe 2 and I noticed more pop out in that one. The Great Wall, it was OK but it ain't a TMNT Out of the Shadows-tier 3D flick.

Just backed The Bubble on Kickstarter....

Although it's already fully funded, I thought I'd show support for 3-D Film Archive.

The deadline is Oct 26 if you'd like to join the 588 other backers!

I would love to back the Kickstarter group and buy the Bubble (3D), but they don't ship to Canada. Is there a glitch, or are they not open to shipping to Canada?
