This Holiday break allowing busy workers to watch 3D movies.

Ghost In The Shell. Medium-to-Strong Awesome depth. I was concerned at first that the dark settings would dilute the 3D much but it was nicely set contrasts that allowed for some 3D renders.

Pirates of The Caribean. Mild-to-Medium. Quite uneven 3D for me. It has its moments like when the swords pop out of the screen.

Default Kiss Me Kate

Ann Miller's suitors were played by Tommy Rall (who also played her boyfriend), Bob Fosse, and Bobby Van. In the end dance number she danced with Rall (the tall dark haired), Fosse (the shorter fair haired) danced with the famous Carol Haney. Bobby Van (tall fair haired) can be recognized by his beak-like nose. Can't remember who was his partner, but it's listed in the opening credits. Hermes pan had a bit part as a sailor just before the "Brush Up on Your Shakespeare" number.

Today's pickup - Bolt 3D sealed for $4.99. Its the single disc version, no slip, database says it came with Samsung tv's. weird thing is I swore I owned the three-disc version with lenti slip already but have been through my collection multiple times this week and apparently I don't. Oh well, my plan is to track down a steelbook and throw the disc in it.

Watched the two Mockingjays. Both are good with great Atmos tracks, but part 2 has better 3D, a lot of part 1 is indoors and dark, both highly recommended. I got the two pack from Germany… region B locked. I now have the 6 disc blu ray set, the 8 disc 4K set and the German 2 disc 3D set, hopefully I’m done with the Hunger Games.

I think I remember pop outs, but I’ll rewatch and comment.

I haven't watched Dawn in years but I remember being pleasantly surprised with the 3D. may have to give it spin again soon.

The Great Wall. Medium.. An uneven presentation of a few strong 3D scenes and some mild 3D. Love that scene where the protagonist was led to stand to the edge of the platform and the depth was spectacular from the shot from above. Nega para were mostly blurred foregrounds. The scenes where they were flying over was excellent, also the pop-outs of spear and spinning shield.

Did the popout in the main menu seem stronger to you than when those same popouts were shown in the film?

I do wish we had more "looking down from the edge" shots all around. I also liked this one, I'd rank it above Shang Chi's, though 5he strongest one that I can recall offhand was in the trailer for Men in Black 3D.

I don't remember this particular scene, but I do remember the movie overall having many great 3D moments along with a very good Atmos mix. I think I remember the MiB3 scene being strong because of they way they emphasise it. The Shang-chi scene is also very good but I always deduct a point from Shang-chi because of how set-up sensitive it seems to be.

I watched The Thousand Faces of Dunjia last night.

The 3D was decent throughout, with some standout scenes, but perhaps not quite the 3D showcase I was hoping for. As for the film, I could barely follow what was going on most of the time but it was entertaining enough!

The subtitles were occasionally oddly placed in the 3D space so you couldn't read them without going cross-eyed.

You are not alone in stuggling to get used this this style of story telling. I see it many reviews of movies I had no problem understanding. But maybe they can loose a little in translation unless you have spent years of watching similar movies.

I thought the 3D was mostly very good throughout the movie. But the 3D in the second half was movie spectacular.

If you can change image 3D setting to max so that the subtitles emerge from the picture. Do it with subtitle in the picture so you can notice the changes. It won't solve the problem but at least it won't give you cross-eye issues.

Watched, enjoyed the movie and the 3D, mostly depth, but a few pop outs…guns, spears, rain, leaves and sparks. Just a few inches not a few feet, so Cabanon is correct, not for pop out junkies.

Hi president,

You got me curious so I again watched it today. I actually found the 3D to be consistently good throughout with some really great shots. A fun film.

Hi president,

My next watch I'm sorry to say is Young Detective Dee. Know how extremely rare it is to find and that I'm very fortunate to have a copy.
