I've got the Oppo 83 and the thing did "weird out" on me when navigating the menu choices. It was like for every remote button push (the cursor keypad and Enter buttons) it was registering two button presses. So when I would push left or right, the on screen cursor would move two spots along the menu choices. In fact, couldn't get it to land on Play Film. Selected the Scenes menu and it immediately selected Chapter 1. The thing is that it worked fine when I first loaded the disc, but I first watched the short ~4 min. HDNet spot in the special features, and it was after I got out of that is when it weirded out on me.

However, after I had shut the machine off and came back to it the next morning, it was fine again. So I don't know what happened.

Finally finished the whole thing. Great film. I came away wanted to know more about the characters, could of been longer.

It appears that Amazon's price is down to $19.49 (from $29.99) so I am really tempted to blind buy this, reviews are incredibly positive on this film.

I bought the extended edition first week and even though I didnt have my surround sound at the time it was still a great looking movie and sounded fine through my TV. I recommended getting your hands on a copy.

is the extended cut an online exclusive? Cause apparently no stores I go to seem to have it...and it's been that way for some time.

it is rather hard to find. ur not gonna find it at aTarget, Walmart or even Best Buy. I had to go across town to the only suncoast in all of MN to get mine. so try Suncoast or f.y.e.

Its readily available at most HMV's and i think maybe at Best Buy, although I noticed that they don't come with Slip Covers like mine did.

It's a really nice slip probably the best one I own (of the few that I do), so if you can get your hands on the Extended cut slip get it right away since it seems that they're not longer producing them.

For those wondering if the International Version from Amazon.com is shrink-wrapped as the site was claiming they may or may not come shrink-wrapped about a month ago, mine arrived today and was indeed factory-sealed (no slipcase) and at the top had the white sticker that closes off the case under the plastic, and on the outside of the plastic shrink-wrap was a small white and red sticker that read "2 Discs: Action Packed 5-Hour Feature"

Now its a matter of finding the time to watch the entire thing.

I'm considering picking it up. I was going to pull the trigger but I had a second movie in my cart that happened to change price midday today. Now I won't order it on principle.

It happens, but you should bite on Red Cliff because Amazon will probably raise the price back up to $29.99 soon enough.

The other item was filler but a BD I wanted. They raised it $2 literally within two hours of me adding it to cart and then getting ready to checkout. Now I need something else to qualify for FSSS.
