here is towers and a center channel for $2200 obo, you can ask for $2k shipped easily. John, I heard these about 2 weeks ago. Let me say that the bass sounded like a subwoofer was in the room, I mean slam. And there is so much mid-range and smoothness to the highs, its sick.

you could also go buy the DM 2/10 for about $1000 cause they are being discontinued, and the DM Center $750, and you would have an awesome BRAND NEW setup for less then $2k

A buddy of mine bought a pair of demo Focus 220 MK1s for $1900 from a dealer, so 2k is definitely sufficient.

Bleh! Just listening to BB King whilewaiting on the snow plower guys to come! They need to dig my car out, otherwise I am not going to work tomorrow.

Regarding the 220s and Center, if I had the space for another set up I'd pick them up like tomorrow. Yes, they are a steal!

right on.... Your lucky that your boss is that cool, our hub in Indianapolis was basically shut down also. It was in the low 50s here and windy as heck, so it felt like it was in the low 40s, for CA in the daytime, that is cold. I had to get gas this morning, and I only put in a few bucks because I couldn't stand being out in the wind.

I think Im gonna put on some Norah Jones... Can't wait to get my AC/DC album.

If I had the room and the money, I would get those 220s and 200C plus some 110s for HT and then get the S25's for 2-channel music. That would be awesome.

local dealer in mass just emailed me back with some pricing. wasnt too happy as i believe they are retail prices.

he quoted me $2450 shipped (no tax) for a pair for X16 and the X22 center

he told me they cant get the DM 2/10, only the 2/7. so he said a pair of 2/7 and the DM center for $1700 shipped (no tax)

they dont have any in stock for demo, but he was willing to bring some in...

that is retail. they will not disclose prices other then that in any form for fear that you may be another dealer or may take it to another dealer. Dynaudio doesn't want dealers discounting their products, the Mark Ups on them is a lot less then say other speaker companies, and they feel they are well worth their MSRP, but if you make it good with the dealer, theyll do something for you.

Do they have the Excites in stock?

no they dont stock the exites, but he said he can order some to get in for me to demo. i hear ya on the prices. i suppose i have to be there to strike up a deal in person with them. we will see what happens

That's it Ryan I don't know how much they are willing to reduce for you but 10%-12% is moreless the max they may go a bit more. I know my dealer could not lower them more than what I paid my Totems for.

Id suggest asking him to bring in a pair of X16s for audition. Make sure they are broke-in, otherwise they will sound a little boring and slightly dark. A good 50+ hours and the X16s start to open up. 150 hours and they rock.

Dalis are Awesome and he loves them but he needs $$ and Dynaudio would not be much of a downgrade, awesome bookshelves, just less low end.

nope not at all! i love my dali's. as i stated in previous post i am considering on down sizing my system since my move. just feeling things out right now. i wouldnt mind going to a nice pair of monitors with matching center, and then get a simple small pair of surrounds. dont need a monster loud system anymore. i will still keep my emo amp and svs sub.

i actually considered some towers with subs built in to be able to even go further and sell the svs. the towers with subs in them would be enough for my setup.

the problem is going with speakers that are just as expensive as i have now. in order to put some $$ back in the bank and buy a smaller less expensive speaker setup. so many good deals on CL, def tech setup for $700, saw some kef setup's, some paradigm. oh my...


i will have to consider other speaker lines as well, dynaudio is probably not a down grade to dali's, but more of an upgrade.

i saw this the other day, nice setup but one problem. the center is longer than my spot in my entertainment center. (see my gallery for the unit i have) i need a center no wider than 20", that focus center is a bit over 25".

i will keep an eye out, but first a foremost i have to see if i can sell my dali's first. if you know anyone??

LOL right on Ryan

Your Dalis are Fantastic Ryan and they are close to the Dyn in performance ok the Dynaudio has the Edge to me but your Ikons are one of my favourites. I know from Experience I have Heard the Ikon 5 dual 5 inch and the X32 with dual 5.5.

Those Danish sure know how to make speakers.

+1 just base on what I heard from Totem in that price Range and heard whith the X32 those Focus 220MK1 must be amazing.

The X32/x22 Retails 1.4K more than those used Focus but the Focus is certainly a step up.
