T-rex looks nothing like the movie one. Colour and design is all off.

Now if it looked like this....

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I would then buy it.

This is gonna sound silly but the one thing I REALLY want on this set is the original teaser trailer for Jurassic Park, the amber-mine/mosquito one with the deep booming voiceover...it was never on any of the DVD releases as I recall and I loved that trailer...

Sideshow did some really nice sculptures a few years ago but they were really pricey. I think I'll pass on the T Rex set after junk like the Alien egg and the Tron disc, but the tin should be nice if it follows the standard of the Back To The Future set.

I haven't seen Jurassic Park since it was released at the cinema and I didn't enjoy much, it seemed to go on forever but that was probably because I was on industrial strength painkillers at the time, so this'll be a good opportunity to give it another go. I always thought Richard Attenborough, fine actor that he was (blu rays of I'm All Right Jack, Private's Progress, The League Of Gentlemen and 10 Rillington Place would be more than welcome) was a bit too genial for the part, original choice Sean Connery would have given it a bit more edge.

As others have said if the TIN version is same as BTTF then will be day one purchase for me.

Will pass on the T-REX model.

If TIN is just a steelbook - will go for regular version - but not day 1 - will wait for price to drop a bit.

What are they like for delivering pre-orders? Saving £15-20 on this is brilliant but would it turn up for the release date?

Thanks - I've put an order in for that, might put it in for the tin version as well as that's much cheaper on there. Worst comes to the worst surely at least one will turn up on time then!

Do you want to elaborate for people? I have been with play since they started and have never had any issues with them?

I've been a Play customer for years and at first they were superb, good prices and quick delivery. but now they are always about the average price, never the cheapest, delivery is horribly slow and they even manage to send the wrong thing quite often (I ended up with some kids TV tractor series instead of Robocop trilogy a while ago) and to top it off, if the item I've ordered is anyway fragile or easily dented (read steelbook/tin box) they ship it in the most inappropriate packaging they can find, I had my metal box Halo 3 shipped in a black plastic bag, zero protection apart from maybe rain.
BTTF tin box got returned three times if I remember rightly, ended up walking into an HMV to get that as I got sick of Play's poor shipping.

I get a decent discount from Play so I do occasionally use them but I'm more than happy to go elsewhere and pay more to avoid disappointment, the exclusive Attack The Block will be one of these items.

They used to be the "go to guy" for anything on disc at one point, real shame.

I've got 'Source Code' steelbook on order as it's an exclusive however I'm dreading it after all the things I'm seeing about the Play packaging.
Out of interest are they as bad as indigo or worse ?

The only reason I stoped getting my pre orders from play was because they started to dispatch later and later meaning that my orders 9 times out of 10 arrived a few days after release.

In which case I could have just as easily walked into a supermarket and picked it up at midnight for the same price. Part of the advantage of pre ordering online is that you get it on the day, if not the friday/saturday BEFORE release. And HMV have done that consistantly with every pre order I've placed.

I just have to say that the one thing I havent had happen from any supplier is damaged goods when it comes to stelbooks/tins. I've had the Star Trek and Avatar steels from Play with no problems. I even got the BTTF tin from them just before it went OOP and it arrived mint.

So the only reason I pre order from Play is if they have an exclusive, or if they have a REALLY good sale, because I know that if I order from HMV I'll get it before release.

I pre ordered from Play on this one just because it was the only one up at the time, and will switch to HMV.

Indigo are MUCH worse than Play. In my experiance Play always ships in a cardboard box rarther than crappy Jiffy bags that Indigo use.

Jiffy bags are always fine for mine virtualy never had any damage (At least nothing i couldnt bear) but all of Plays have come in them too as far as I recall. I suppose I only ordered a few, but I'd take amazon over them any day because te service is so much better if there does end up being a problem. I had an awful time receiving the original BSG tin (shoved in a plastic bag and that's it basically, and an awful courier that meant it took ages to come). Then, when it arrived damaged they had no phone number, the only way of contacting them was a returns request, and after a few days of not hearing anything, writing another one was the only way I could see of contacting them, and of course they wouldn't let you send more than one. There was literally no other way of getting hold of them, no online pm system or email address - luckily now they seem to have reinstated their phone number, but still...

Also, anyone who doesnt have the BTTF tin, bear in mind that it didn't have any spine artwork, so couldn't only be displayed front-ways on, if you see what I mean. Probably won't bother many if JP is like this too, but just thought I'd mention.
