Not to mention Geoffrey Rush said last week he hasn't heard any updates on the movie for some time. It won't start filming until next year at the earliest.

PLease no not let Rob Marshall anywhere near this film . He is the equivalent to this franchise as Marc Forster was to Bond , Brett Ratner was to X-men, or Paul w.s. Anderson was to the Alien/Predator franchises

I absolutely agree! I still say that the ONLY director for the franchise is Gore Verbinski.

I have no idea when. I'm just saying, it probably won't be until next year sometime. I just report the information we have, And all signs I see right now point to a start next year.

It will never happen in a million years but I really wish they would let Terry Gilliam do one of these. Even if Depp tried to convince Disney to give GIlliam $250+ million I doubt they would allow it.

His directing style does not fit into the franchise AT ALL ... They may as well call Sam Raimi or Shamalyan then ...

I have created a BD webpage here on blu-ray.com for Pirates 5's future BD release a while back ago. I thought i'd go ahead mention that in case anyone was interested in checking that out.
