I am a huge Rush fan, so this was one for me to get. Unfortunately.... I have not been able to play it because my Google TV Blu-Ray player cannot play it, evan after many updates for the system that promise better playback compatibility, it wont work.

I agree with some of the thoughts and directions here to the DTS HD format of the Moving Pictures Bluray. I enjoy the spacy sound that involves some newly placed echo's or reverb that the DTS offers, but it just doesnt jive with the 30 year old stereo recording we have all grown around over the years. I can leave my setting on the Disk as DTS and then change my AVR to multi channel stereo and it all diverts back to the old "stereo" type recording. This seems to sound better than changing the disk to PCM 2.1 and then coverting it to multi channel stereo.
What really reminds me of the better resolution this disk offers is watching the old analog video's that are on the disk and how they are in perfect sinc with the remastered tracks. But to be honest, the regular remastered CD that came with the Bluray sounds pretty darn good as well. I dont think I could distinguish the Bluray over the CD when played in straight stereo. |

Some of the classic rock surround mixes don't really work, because they were originally produced for stereo and seem somewhat torn apart in the surround version. Don't get me wrong, I love well done discrete surround mixes (like Dire Straits' Brothers in arms), but this approach works very well for Moving Pictures. Thumbs up! |

Yeah, I'd think it it went OOP the prices would start climbling and amazon is still offering AutoRip on the title which I doubt they'd do for ordering it when they don't have a restock date. I think it is still available thru Amazon UK. I will wait it out to see. I bet anything it needs repressed. I called Barnes and Noble from what they can tell it is on B/O.

I have Moving Pictures and love it. I am thinking of getting 2112 but I was wondering if the three bonus live tracks that are on the end of the CD are also on the BD. And if they are on the BD are they separate from the proper album or would they start playing as soon as the last track from 2112 ends?
