You have to wait a little bit longer to get the UE's, no worries. You're not getting screwed over in the slightest bit, WB never gave promised release dates of the UE's, they ARE getting released. It shouldn't matter that it comes out after the mega box set, if they weren't releasing the last two UE's I would understand your frustration, but they are, so quit complaining.

Did you have a press release about 3 & 4 after 1 & 2? Did you get a press release about 5 & 6 after 3 & 4? My guess is you got press releases when they were ready to announce it. Guess what? It'll probably be the same way this time.

I think ur missing the point of what I'm trying to make, but it's no use arguing, I'm calling WB up directly to see what they can tell me

The problem is you don't have a point. You're acting like you're never going to get the UEs even though you know they're coming. You're complaining because the kid down the street is getting the cool toys before you.

edit: I've honestly got to put you on my ignore list because if I keep having this argument I'm going to get myself banned.

The other three director's said no when it came to doing director's cuts/extended cuts. Cuaron will probably stick to his word. Newell and Yates I'm not so sure about. Warner could have any editor they want to go in and add minutes as well wherever the editor feels like it is necessary. Problem with this second route is that the editor may never of have worked on the film before, doesn't know the director's intentions, and may not care about the film itself. Maybe the directors feel like their films are fine as they are. I say give us extended editions only if the director wants to come back and give us an alternate cut.

This 110%.

Will the UE's come out this year? To be honest (while we're speculating), I don't think so. The Blu-ray's of them coming out rumored for October are the general releases of the 3D combo packs that were BB exclusives for about a year. THat's my guess. And to push sales of this set, they're including all the discs of the UE of both part 7 movies just to get your money and worry you, when in reality, we'll probably see it summer time 2013. Warner Bros. is greedy, people; have you forgotten they've released movie-packs of EVERY movie since the third movie (for DVD; 1-5 and etc. for BD)? They're milking every single penny they can because they know since this series ended, and now Batman, too, that they don't have many flagship franchises that guarantee them hundreds of millions, or a billion dollars.

We'll see them later rather than sooner, but they're coming. I'll patiently wait and not get suckered in.

On a side note, I'm buying this set. LOL. NOT FOR ME! My GF collects everything HP, so her mom who's just as fanatical will be purchasing it with my discount on it.

This, too! Lol.

As much as I did enjoy the films, I would like to see more in Order of the Phoneix, and ESPECIALLY Half-Blood Prince! That one felt like the most condensed, edited version ever! I'm not even sure if they shot more, but they missed about 3-4 more of the pensive memories of Voldemort, and a few others. I also wouldn't mind them adding even a 10-minute battle scene, because the ending was so anti-climatic; saying "we wanted to save the climatic battle for the final movie" is NO excuse!

The margins on the Wizards collection will be nowhere near what they are for a UE. Given that the WC is limited to 63000 it's not going to make them that much money. You will see probably both remaining UEs and a boxset with them all hit before the holidays and the reason is exactly what you would expect. To make money.

Again, please pardon my question, and the lengthy post. I pulled this from the Amazon.com page as it actually lists out all 31 discs

So, for the UK version, everything listed here would be in that version exactly the same, so the DVD's wouldn't work but everything else would? Because if that's the case, I don't need the DVD Copies, because I have them on Blu-Ray, and even if I NEEDED them, I still have them stored away somewhere on DVD.

You will be missing some bonus features if you do that though. The first 4 films have DVD bonus feature discs and most of that content does not repeat on the Blu-Ray bonus feature discs.

I see...so ultimately, if I am a hardcore HP fan, it would be best to just pony up the money for the US Version of the Wizard's Collection?

Depends how often you'd really use those discs - it shouldn't be that hard to find a way to play those DVDs on your computer.

That's the route I went at least. But it might be worthwhile to look at what's on those discs and decide if it's important for you to have that content. If memory serves correct, the DVD bonus discs for the first two films didn't have much video content and was mostly interactive games.

rblum199 makes a good point. Some DVD-ROM drives can switch regions an unlimited number of times if you don't mind watching that content on a computer instead of a TV (or you may already have your computer synched with your TV). It's ultimately about what is the best fit for your budget/interest level.

I just found a website with a video unboxing and review of the British version, but the twist is that everything is reviewed by a kid! It's really adorable to see him try and figure out what's in the box, having no previous knowledge of the contents. Click here to check it out.

Nope if you were a hardcore fan you would be buying a Wizard's Collection from the U.S. and U.K.. The U.S. so you can have one version that says Sorcerer's Stone and the U.K. so you can have one version that says Philosopher's Stone. Sad part is I have got one friend doing this. I went with the U.K. version myself because I prefer hearing Philosopher's Stone.

There are some good points here, but you can get a decent region free dvd player from places like this for a cheap price. http://www.220-electronics.com/dvd/dvdorig.htm You would still be saving 50 bucks after you purchased the player.

LOL! Man that IS hardcore! I don't think I can afford 2 of these though, I am having enough trouble convincing myself to get 1 of them, just because of the price.

I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order for the UK version. I appreciate your guys' responses. A number of great things were brought up that I hadn't considered. I knew that the DVD discs would be unplayable, but I did not consider that there might actually be some of the special features on there that I may want to watch.

I had not considered the fact that even in a special shipping packaging that coming overseas may damage packaging.

And with the combo of my Best Buy GC and RZ coupons, the price will come out to be about the same. And I had been banking the RZ coupons for no real reason anyway, I had legitimately forgotten to print them off for a while, but then just decided to keep banking them.
