I disagree. While the first one is no classic its certainly good throwback 80s fun. The second one is...entertaining but why the cheese? The cheese almost ruins the film. Plus loads of plotholes and inexplicable jumps etc. I bought the first one (DC with embossed slipcover for £6!) but Im not sure Im going to bother buying the second.

Personally I loved it. IMO everybody must see Chuck Norris doing a Chuck Norris joke.

I'd give 2,5 stars for the film of part 1 (haven't seen the extended cut) and 3+ stars for part 2. Will there ever be a extended cut for part 2?

wow. someone clearly hasn't watched many 80's action flicks. part of the fun IS the cheese. how old are you btw? you probably thought the dark knight was a "masterpiece" LOLLLL. yeah right. I hate movies that are overly serious especially action movies. why else would anyone watch the exendables movies if not for the nostalgia and OTT action style and funny one liners? that's part of the whole freaking experience!

yeah that's true, Expendables arnie would have been neat but when you think about it, neca has been making so many Arnold figures lately like from the terminators 1 and 2 and the recent predator line, that its almost not needed. in fact you can just buy neca T1 "tech noir" figure and since hes got trenchcoat in both films, it can suit for a close to expendables arnie. was im more upset is no jet li, or any bad guys like van damme. but you know if you gotta have 3 of the expendables, then im glad we got these 3.

The first one was a huge disappointment. It had a boring story, poor dialog, sluggish pacing, was poorly written with a very uneven tone and was badly edited and shot particularly with the shaky cam in the action sequences. It took itself far too seriously and tried to be something that it wasn't. This one is much more entertaining with a better balance of action and plot, the dialog flows more spontansesly, the characters are better written, the action set pieces, stunts and choreography are hugely improved and its just an all round improvement with an even stronger cast. Bigger and better then the first in just about every way.

I recorded this on a HD channel, but yeah the PQ was very inconsistent. At times it looked quite good and at other times it looked really poor.

I'm not too picky with the pq of it or most blu rays in general (although I will say my ghostbusters bd is noticeably standard) this movie in particular was a step up from the first one. It's not a great movie by any means, but it is entertaining and fun to watch. Like you said, better dialogue, characters were written much better, and it balances for the most part. I'm happy for Sylvester lol

Might? How cheap do you want it to be, before you decide to buy it? I wouldn't wait too much longer because, you know how quickly Amazon prices fluctuate. So if you want it, you better grab it, before the price goes back up again.

Where at? I was at my local Best Buy on Saturday and it was still either 15 or 20. New and used on amazon wasn't much cheaper either (*maybe* 12 or 13 after shipping).
