Loved the Season Finale and looking very forward to next season. The only bugaboo I have is the true nature of Red's relationship to Liz especially now that they "revealed"
[Show spoiler] Anyway, it does feel like we will get some answers in Season 4 so I'm hopeful for that.

Exactly. I keep watching it, but it's really irritating how the whole thing now is about who will Lizzy trust, or who is her father, and that endless, dragged out issue with her child. I don't really give rat's a$$ about any of that crap and IMHO the show had so much more to offer.

Yeah, this show has turned into my "I'll watch it at work" show. Aka, it's playing on my second monitor while I'm working on the main screen. I'm mainly listening to it, and seeing some of it out of my peripheral vision. Might steal a full on glance or two.
I'm on episode 4 of this newest season, and the FBI is STILL questioning Red's intentions. Like, after 3-4 years, wouldn't you think you'd just listen to him and do exactly what he says? Like, everything has basically worked out the way he said it has. So if going after this person will help get Liz's baby back...then just shut up and do it. |

Also, Aram has wanted Navabi ever sense she entered the show. So of course, the ONE time she calls and wants to meet up with him...he's got some white blonde girl at his place? Like, what?! If he was so infatuated with Navabi, and that's all he's wanted...why would he have another girl over?

Unfortunately the previews for next week shows (Surprise!) Liz in danger again. At this point in time I wouldn't mind if they killed her character off. I think Red and Navabi would make a great team. That would keep the Red/FBI dynamic going which I thought was the strong point of the show.
Also wondering how they handle the whole Tom leaving shortly (I assume he still is scheduled to star in his own spin-off). Short of a death I don't see Liz and him splitting up; especially with the baby. |

I think Liz and her endless daddy issues are dragging the show down.
In last few episodes she's really unbearable with her cranky attitude blaming Red for everything, even though most of her troubles are the fruits her and Tom's stupid antics, to some degree cabal's and so on. Caplan's fate/storyline is far more interesting at this point, compared to Liz and her family problems. Just kill her off already. |

Not too much activity in the Blacklist thread. It looks like the show is starting to slip a bit in it's viewership too. I still watch it and enjoy it but I do admit that the show bogs down when Liz is on screen. Perhaps the whole marriage/baby part of the show was a mistake.
I have no idea if the show will be renewed for another season or not. Whichever way it goes, it would be interesting to see who had the top spots on Reddington's blacklist. |

To be fair the focus on Liz is far less this season than the previous. Althrough i'm a bit puzzled at the forced "will they won't they" with Aram and Samar, is seems very clumsy and badly thought out

I don't know what everyone else thinks about this series, for me, when they launched into "Elizabeth had a baby" and "let's kidnap Elizabeth Keen's baby" and have her involved in the murders of Senator Hawkins and Tom Connolly, the series has just become too convoluted for me. There have just been too many "jump the shark" moments. Then, it got worse with the Cabal storyarc by having Red become involved with the Cabal but then the creative team simply dropped that particular ball.
I tried sticking with the series for as long as I could but it just got too ridiculous for me to follow. It's also why I stopped watching LOST after the first three seasons and it was because of the direction of the show. The problem, I think, is that the showrunners get too comfortable with the breakout success of their shows that they get too comfortable and start relaxing. The whole "Elizabeth is not an FBI agent" shouldn't have gone on for as long as it did because I think they lost a lot of viewers because of the direction of running too many storyarcs. "Liz's baby, Liz's baby gets kidnapped, Alexander Pope is Liz's father, Liz is a murder suspect, Liz on the run", I just think the show became too complicated to follow. The first two seasons are the only two that I still watch repeatedly. It was when the third season kicked into high gear when the series lost me as a viewer. I tried staying with it as long as I could and I even stuck with part of the fourth season but that the series drug that story-line out for way too long. This is something that has been a problem for the bulk of the third season and the bulk of the fourth season. |
