5 (A New Beginning) is one of the best of the Paramount films. Pitch black comedy at its finest!

I'll admit I don't watch that one as often as I do the other 7, and I still like it, but it's always been the weakest in my eyes.

I don't get excited for 3D movies because I can not watch them, they give me terrible migraines, which sucks. It doesn't even have to be for a long time, the 3D rides at universal even cause me migraines, but they are fun rides so I go on them anyways!

It's pretty bad if you look at it as a serious horror movie. I watch it as a comedy though, and it always provides a few laughs.

You can say that again, so tired of the found footage thing.

3D means we'll get an overly bright picture, which looks very artificial. Why do they need so much light for the 3D effect? It looks like crap when you watch it in 2D.

Old 3d which didn't have much going for it. They come a long ways since the red and green/blue glasses.

I think a winter setting could make that artificiality look more real, with the bright, white snow and all...

A nice throwback to Part 3 3D. I welcome 3D for a slasher film like this.

Portuguese site Omelete caught up with Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form who revealed a shocker about the forthcoming Friday the 13th, which was rumored to be a remake and to be released in 3-D.

“We did a reboot in 2009 and now in 2014 we are focusing on a different story of Jason,” says the rough translation. “This will not be a continuation of the 2009 film nor a remake of the original It’s just a different story.”

But the big news was hiding within the story, where the site claims that were told that “the film will likely take place during the 80′s because the producers want to recover the feel of the first film.”

I’ve always thought that the first film carried a found-footage feel to it, especially since half the movie is told through the eyes of Pamela Voorhees. It’ll be interesting to see what direction is taken, although I relish in the idea that they’re thinking outside of the box. We don’t need another polished, generic slasher. Jason deserves better than that.

David Bruckner, who directed some of The Signal and our V/H/S, is directing.

Would love for it to take place in the 80's. Give it that old school look and vibe.

I'm still in. I'm intrigued to see what David Bruckner will do with a Friday the 13th story.

Ironically, its a good movie, but the sh**ty ending with Jason not being the killer ruined it.
