Saw this on another forum. St Louis is being hit, is that where the servers are? |

I agree, all of this seems like a story prank being played on Twitter. I remember last Christmas having the exact same problems as this year. Psn was down all Christmas and boxing day, but at night when traffic was lower things started working again.
I don't really know, but it seems more opportunistic than a well thought out cyber attack. |

But Seattle is also starting to see a new wave of DDoS attacks which is where Microsoft have servers so they could have focused back on PSN and XBL. Not really sure what they point of attacking PSN would be though when it isn't like it is working without the attacks since Sony have taken most of it offline themselves. We splurged for PS4 for the teenager this year. We got him Destiny to go with it and his sister gave him a PS+ for a year.
He's been mopey about not being able to play it and is temporarily mollified with the PS3 now that's it working again. It's been a sucky Christmas for him and we're a little PO'd about spending the money for essentially an over-sized paperweight. He can do a few things with it, but not much. If we had an idea when the network would be back up, it probably wouldn't be so bad. |

Until they learn how stop DDOS attacks, then yes.
![]() And in good news, Anonymous has declared war on LS vowing to take them down. Last edited by RaijinUT; 12-26-2014 at 11:27 PM. |

I'm pretty sure these people have not been DDoSing for quite some time now. If the servers have been turned off for about two days at this point, how much damage could possibly be done? I'm sick of seeing @AskPlayStation stating that they do not have any ETA.
If Microsoft can get their services back up within hours, how can it possibly take Sony days? |

A member from the hacker group, Anonymous, is apparently assisting Sony in the restoration process and some individuals have gotten on because of him.

Not saying that I don't agree with you, because I do, but I doubt they give anything much. |
