Leave No Trace is a huge shame. I'm really keen to see it and it has had great reviews from critics I trust.

Slightly related, but I’m also pretty gutted about the seeming lack of distributor for films like Sorry To Bother You and Eighth Grade, both look brilliant yet seemingly no support for them here in the U.K. Reminds me of what happened with Snowpiercer and The Spectacular Now, both had no distribution and ended up getting lost because no one struck when the hype was at it’s peak.
I too saw people point out the lack of distribution for those titles. Sorry to Bother You looks great fun and I assumed one of the smaller indie distributors would grab it, but nothing yet (maybe it'll get a belated release). Eighth Grade seems less likely now.

Snowpiercer - and The Immigrant - was held by The Weinstein Company, which explains a lack of release as there were probably extreme setbacks and UK distributors decided not to fight for a release. Hopefully they'll get a home video release eventually.

I think The Spectacular Now only received a VoD release in the UK, I seem to remember. Think I watched it with an Amazon Prime trial. It's unfortunately the kind of film that'd probably just get a DVD release, despite the star appeal.

Leave No Trace skipping Blu is a crime. It's visually stunning and a DVD will not do it justice. I can't imagine I'd ever watch it again so won't pick it up, but feel bad for anyone who will have to resort to DVD to experience it.

Looks like Teen Titans Go To The Movies won't get a blu ray release over here and I really want to see that

Just seen the reviews for its release next Monday but Funny Cow from Entertainmenr One only getting DVD and digital.

Are we likely to see a BD overseas as when I saw at cinema felt very “British”.

I saw the trailer for this and The Children Act in full 1080p on Entertainment One's Blu-ray of Finding Your Feet, and I agree that it's not likely to see a release on Blu-ray in another country. Entertainment One really need to prioritize these kinds of releases on UK Blu-ray, as they have little chance of being released outside the UK except on DVD. Hopefully, The Children Act will get some kind of international release thanks to the presence of Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci, but Funny Cow doesn't have any Hollywood stars in leading roles to bank on.

It might get a release in Germany, though. Still, I would much prefer domestic releases for UK films.

Looking on IMDB and I know their release date info can be sketchy but it says outside UK, Funny Cow received a festival screen in July in Ireland but that’s it so far. So wider international release looks remote.

I guess the producers didn’t take to Cannes, or at least wasn’t publicly exhibited to hopefully get overseas sales. Looking at the producers list on IMDB none is a household name, and it seems Entrtainment One only bought UK distribution they were not involved in making it.

Being that small scale really doesn’t help a film internationally.

Going back some years another British film I was surprised did so well internationally was Made in Dagenham (We Want Sex) which never got a UK BD from the distributor here Paramount, but did in US from Sony Classics and in a number of European countries including France, Germany and Italy.

With that though it seemed a “bigger” film with co-producers including BBC and Film Council plus it had some star recognition with the actors including Bob Hoskins and Rosamund Pike (had already been a Bond girl but much more famous today).

Just been posted in the Movie thread, but the upcoming Suspiria remake has been picked up by MUBI. They’re promising a decent 100+ cinema release, but considering they’ve never distributed anything on disc, chances of a Blu release seem slim.

Great news all! Leave No Trace is yet another studio title given a Blu-ray release exclusive to HMV.

https://store.hmv.com/film-tv/blu-ra...(hmv-exclusive)

So I'll definitely be grabbing that at some point - as well as First Reformed, Mandy and Unsane.

It's not clear whether HMV are instigating this or not, but I'm thankful there's at least an option for UK folk to get these on Blu-ray.

I think it's actually with FilmNation overall but yes MUBI are distributing it theatrically (and VoD obviously). Perhaps FilmNation will pass it onto a home video distributor for Blu-ray and DVD (e.g. StudioCanal, eOne, Lionsgate, EiV). It's too big a film to get no kind of home video release, and I doubt MUBI have the same kind of contract as Netflix might, so couldn't block any sort of home video release (though it might be belated, if they had a window of exclusivity).

Surprised someone like Curzon or StudioCanal didn't get this one, let alone a studio!
