Same here! Except mine is coming to Phoenix, AZ

Hoping it gets here by Tuesday, but I usually receive my Target orders the day after release.

Good for you all. Mine's not shipping until next week.

I canceled the original order to get the gift card. Target sucks.

Yeah, it's telling me "April 11". Hopefully you're right.

EDIT: You're right. Dispatched yesterday -- UPS sh__post, which means bye-bye any chance of getting it early.

It'll be interesting to see if they go for a deluxe version by December 2017 and what would be included.

Saw Rogue One in 3D theaters a couple times and while I definitely enjoyed the movie and the 2nd half in 3D, the first half could really use stronger 3D. The brightness/contrast on my 3D TVs will help a little anyway to make the 3D images stand out better than if it was darker with less contrast, as was my experience in Regal regular 3D theater. Cinemark's 3D looked a bit better thanks to the brightness.

I got Doctor Strange 3D on a Saturday from Target.com, so all my fingers and toes are crossed for Rogue One 3D this weekend...

Yeah the 3D in Rogue One was a definite step down over the 3D in The Force Awakens which was excellent. Rogue One had pretty weak 3D for much of its runtime. I will still get the 3D version since there is no 4k edition but this is one I would definitely go 4k HDR over 3D 1080p if that option existed

Home 3D might be better than theatical, due to player and TV 3D enhancement options.

What's interesting is it's from the same conversion team, Stereo D. The question then is what was their budget for converting the 3D per film, and how much time were they allowed? Seems like either a smaller budget for the 3D in Rogue One or less time to convert it, requiring less impressive, milder 3D to get it finished on time.
They'll be converting The Last Jedi this December 2017, so here's hoping we get the stronger 3D of Force Awakens from them again.

Yes, home 3D has a few more adjustments to our preferences compared to some theaters who don't optimize the 3D onscreen.

I need the wisdom of others' experience. Is there any reasonable chance that this eBay deal is real rather than a scam?
- $12.99 for steelbook with all disks (but no digital copy)
- Account only 1 week old, with feedback of 0
- About 25 sold already

Sometimes sellers will offer a movie for $1 and then charge $28.99 for the shipping. I wonder what his shipping is? Bottomline, without any reviews of the seller, I would be hesitant to trust it at such a low price right out of the gate. How can an individual undercut the big stores by more than half the cost on release week? Okay, it's used from the look of it.

Best Buy is now offering it for $24.99. But you're right, it's not even released yet.

.
The movie's budget was 200 million. Many 3D movies have had smaller budgets than that and produced better 3D conversions then this one got. Don't know why the 3D was step down over The Force Awakens but its definitely the case. Yeah hope The Last Jedi is better or hope Disney is finally support 4k Blu-Ray by the time that one is read for a home video release

It is a wonder to me why this thread continually passes inferior judgement calls comparing Rogue to The Force Awakens.

Making a "step down" verdict for the "3D experience" requires Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to first be viewed on the consumer home setup, yet haven't read that to be the case to date.

Plus a stock photo. Has scam written all over it. His only other item is complete saga for 12.99 new, which is just impossible.

Wonder if it's a knock off edition? Also noticed at the bottom description he said
"Display Format: Digital Copy; 3D; Only @ Best Buy". Makes it seem he's not selling the complete steel book edition and buried that in the small print.

Only reason I can think that Stereo D may have had less time for the conversion would be the later reshoots where they added new scenes to fine tune the story, while cutting other scenes. It could also depend on the director's intent. Sometimes he might want more money put into the reshoots and less into the 3D budget. It's unlikely that the price was the factor though, this being Disney/Star Wars.

Comparing the 3D is ideal on a home display where we have more control over the 3D display's brightness and contrast, though a good judgment and assessment of 3D can still be made in 3D theaters, especially if the same theater is attended to compare the two films, with the same projection.

In general, if someone saw a strong 3D film in a Cinemark theater, then saw a mild 3D film in the same Cinemark theater, it's a fairly consistent display screen to judge the 3D and make a comparison.

But I'll keep an open mind when I get to rewatch it at home, even after having seen Rogue One 3D twice in theaters, and Force Awakens three times in the same theaters.

From what I saw each time, Rogue One's 3D seems to be in the low medium to medium 3D range for much of the film, and then amps up later on to high medium and some strong 3D layering. 3D can vary from shot to shot.

The question is also which directors was talked to if at all. Gareth or his replacement for the reshoots.

Yes, I'd like to hear what happens behind the scenes with Stereo D's 3D conversions. They are definitely one of the best 3D conversion teams out there.

Got my Best Buy Steelbook today.

For people who pre-ordered from Target, I did that for a few titles with the Buy Two, Get One Free sale recently and those all arrived for me on Wednesday or Thursday.
