My plasma can only accept 1080p @ 24 and not 60. I had the Sony S300 but went with the BD10A because of the TrueHD & DTS-HD decoding. Even at 1080i I was able to duplicate the PQ of the Sony. Just wish the Panny did 1080p/24

Quick question

The "improved picture quality via HDMI" in the firmware update list, does that refer to the 1080p>1080i>1080p problem that this model shared with the samsung being fixed?

Also since it's technically possible to make this deck do 1080/24, anyone know of any plans to do so, or maybe one of our chip people can chime in on that?

It shouldn't require a hardware mod, simple firmware enabling as far as I can tell

Thanks WickyWoo

I assume 10A is the newer model? The technical spec looks identical. The only obvious difference is the coulour (10A is black).

There is no price difference here in Belgium. They both retail around €999 inclusive of 21% sales tax.

Can someone give me the link to the 2.2 firmware? Going through Panasonic's site just links me to the 2.0 page.

Default Help...?

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone would be able to help me out? I am a Mac user and need someone to send me a 2.2 firmware upgrade disc.

The catch is that I live in Japan. I can certainly reimburse you via PayPal. Please let me know if you can.

Thanks so much to anyone that can help.

If you have Stuffit Expander version 11.02 (the free version) you can open the .exe file to get the PANA_DVD.FRM file and use your Mac to burn the firmware file to a CD-R without any problems whatsoever. Just use the disc burning feature built into the OS X Finder.

Whoohoo! My first update!

Maybe after this one the deck will play the LOTR extended version DVDs.
