Gone with the Bullets was a little too pretentious, art-house, and self-indulgent for me, but it was certainly lavish, and I think maybe 3D could save it. In 2D, it has nothing on In the Heat of the Sun and Devils on the Doorstep. The international cut with English subs is 20min shorter than the Chinese version--I assume to keep it from dragging.

We are missing a lot of Chinese conversions on disc. I haven't watched A Writer's Odyssey flat, but it looks like one of the better ones.

Found a used Godzilla set (without the action figure) with Monster Planet of Godzilla (1994) at a reasonable price, and it was delivered today! 10/10 for strong depth and rad particle pop-outs. It blows Legendary Pictures' 3D conversions out of the water. It's theme park-style fun, and it was awesome seeing Godzilla fight Mothra and Rodan in strong 3D. They reuse the same miniatures from the Heisei era Toho films, and I find the practical effects pretty charming. I wish I could find some fansubs online, but they aren't really necessary to enjoy the short ride.

Thanks to BleedOrange11’s discovery, I’ve also acquired Godzilla Monster Planet 3D! I found a used disc on Amazon Japan (without the action figure it’s around $30), and forwarded it to the US with ZenMarket.

I agree with all his points. 10/10. This is strong, theme park-level 3D with constant popouts. Even stronger depth than A*P*E, with much higher production value. There’s a journey to space sequence that had my eyes popping like Dr Strange in the Open Your Eye sequence. The suitmation is occasionally more charming than convincing, but that’s classic Zilla for ya. And yes, Big G does atomic breath right at the camera.

This stands toe-to-toe with Digimon Grand Prix as some of the best 3D I own. I can’t wait to surprise my friends with it when I screen Godzilla Vs Kong 3D next year before the sequel, but I’ll have to screen the short after the feature, so it doesn’t upstage Legendary’s more subtle 3D.

Fansubs by johnsonmt110 became available for the Monster Planet of Godzilla short in December. I finally got this title on 3D Blu-ray today (Yahoo auctions Japan - no accessories, just the digipack which suits me fine) and cut/resynced them to match the stereo short, with a couple missing lines I noticed added in as well.

Is the Monster planet of Godzilla a bonus feature or disc included in the legendary set from Japan? This one?

Yes, that's the one. It's on a bonus disc exclusive to that set.

my order from buyoyo shipped, 2 items were cancelled due to out of stock (which I don't understand because both still show 12-25 days to restock), 3AM Part 2 & Ghost in the Shell: SSS. other than that, all other 10 titles are on their way.

@ BleedOrange11

If I am correct the ̶̶f̶o̶l̶l̶o̶w̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ last two titles are not listed in your IMDB lists.

GeGeGe no Kitarō: Yōkai Japan Rally 3D [Sanrio Puroland (Tokio) July 12, 2008]

Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash☆Star: Maji☆Doki♡ 3D Theater [IMAX (Japan) July 2006]
--> this short has a lot of shots with exaggerated depth

Pretty Cure All Stars DX: 3D Theatre [Cinema (Japan) August 5, 2011]

Is it true that 'Stand by me Doraemon 2' received only a (cinema) 2D release, even if on wikipedia it is written that it is a 3D computer-animated film? Some other movie has the same written on wikipedia, and it received a (cinema) 3D release.

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 was not released in stereoscopic 3D, only 2D and 2D Imax. I remember checking Japan cinemas online in its opening week (and have since double checked myself). That was a disappointment for me since I loved the first film. Any claims of "3D" refers to CGI in this case.

Have you seen any of those shorts in 3D? Do they have a physical release or online version in 3D?

That Pretty Cure Splash Star (2006) short was only released 2D on DVD as far as I know, based on Wiki:

I watched the two Pretty Cure shots only in 2D, on Dailymotion. I am not aware of any 3D release physical or online, I thought you might have more info about it, concerning 3D release.

I added a bit more to the "Unreleased Japanese 3D Movies" list. A lot of these shorts have no IMDB entry.

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls565645058/

Japan has little pop-up theaters, based out of trucks on the street, that play 3D/4D/VR shorts. (Charlie Chu also drives something similar around Taiwan to show his films.) There are a lot more shorts for these that I haven't fully researched or listed on this site.

https://dynamoamusement.jp/works/ [note that some of these could be just 2D (flat) in 4D (motion chairs) and others are VR only]

The city/castle/museum that produced Oshu Shiroishi Story: Nobuo Miyagino's Daughter's Revenge (2018) plays two more historical drama/samurai re-enactment native 3D short films, one of them featuring Ken Watanabe. I can't find enough data to even list their original year of release though. No posters either.

http://shiro-f.jp/shiroishijo/info/index.html

Japan also has their own version of the Lumiere Awards, which I have found to be a helpful resource for discovering new 3D films.

https://advancedimagingsociety.jp/award/index.html

The director who shot People Who Are Addicted to Jomon (2018), a native 3D museum documentary with a 2D DVD, also made a low-budget native 3D horror feature, Sentimental, which won a JP Lumiere Award in 2020 but, as far as I can tell, was never released theatrically, even limited or in festivals. It looks pretty fun.

[Show spoiler]

There was a limited release of Magic Han War in Korea by LG, it wasn't available at retail but seems to have been offered as a pack in extra for TV customers. It looks like there were at least three different discs.

I gather it was a 26-part cartoon to teach kids Mandarin. The CG is N64 standard but the 3d is native.
https://globalbunjang.com/product/20...B2%B0%EA%B3%BC

There is also a new Japanese release called 'Void Scripture' which mentions 3d (but not 3d blu ray) on the back of the box. Apparently it includes '3D interviews with 4 popular lives such as Tsukino Mito and Kuzuha' and '“Koku Gathering” Four Heavenly Kings 3D conversation'". Has Japan broken its indigenous 3d drought?
