I distinguish between best and favorite. There is overlap between the two, but I acknowledge that personal favorites of mine aren't always the "best" films of their respective year. For instance movies like Fighting With My Family, Downton Abbey, and Brittany Runs a Marathon would probably all make my top 10 or 20 favorites of the year, but would not make my top 10 or 20 Best of the year. I consider Parasite to be the best film of 2019 (that I've seen), followed by The Farewell, and Jojo Rabbit. My favorite movie of the year however is Jojo Rabbit, followed by Booksmart, then The Farewell and then Parasite.

You can expand that to movies in general. One of my favorite movies of all time is Jurassic Park, but I wouldn't consider it one of the best films ever made. I'd be surprised to find people that consider all of their favorite movies are what they also consider the best movies ever made, so in my opinion there is a clear distinction between the two.

I pretty much wholly agree with MifuneFan, so no point in completely repeating what he said.

But any Top 5 list of my Favorite Films would include Scream. It might actually be #1. I'd have to give it thought, but it's certainly Top 5. Oh, and Mean Girls would be Top 5, too.

Neither of them would be anywhere near the Top 5 of films I consider Best, however.

I agree. There's a clear distinction for me between things that may be great but are not close to my heart and things that may not be the best but have tremendous personal meaning. Ridley Scott is my favorite filmmaker for a variety of reasons, but is he a superior director to, say, Kubrick or Kurosawa? I don't think so, but it doesn't matter.

‘Parasite’: HBO In Talks For Limited Series Based On Movie From Bong Joon Ho & Adam McKay

Bong and Adam McKay will craft the TV series adaptation, from CJ Entertainment, the studio behind the feature film, McKay’s Hyperobject Industries and Dooho Choi’s Kate Street Picture Company.

The Parasite series was hotly pursued by top streamers, including Netflix. The in-demand Bong chose to set up the project at HBO, which has a strong track record in limited series — from Band of Brothers to Big Little Lies — and team up with Succession executive producer McKay, who is under a first-look deal at HBO/HBO Max.

Bong and McKay will executive produce with Choi for Kate Street, Mikey Le, Cho Young Ki and Francis Chung for CJ Entertainment and Kevin Messick for Hyperobject Industries. CJ Entertainment’s Jerry Ko is co-executive producer and Fred Lee is a producer. The project is a co-production of Kate Street Picture Company, CJ Entertainment and Hyperobject

I walked out of the theater telling my mom somebody was going to remake this in English. At least Bong is attached though, so there's that.

It was not mentioned if it's a remake, it might even be in Korean. Could they actually continue the story or follow the Kim family's other schemes prior to it. Unlikely though, unless the cast is returning.

HBO produced 1st season of My Brilliant Friend (L'amica geniale) last 2018. Whole show was totally in Italian (which I loved).

Lee Jung-eun who plays the housekeeper has the only legitimate chance, but it's a long shot.

I think Song Kang-ho has the only close shot at a acting nomination for this movie, but predict he will be left out too unfortunately. Hope I am wrong.

I really think he's getting in. I'm predicting her too but am less confident than I am with him.
