Something rather odd is that some episodes on the FF release run shorter than those on the Kino.
For example: "Dead Weight" Kino: 76.05 FF: 75.54 "Forgotten Lady" Kino: 97.44 FF: 97.33 "Identity Crisis" Kino: 98.10 FF: 97.59 There are numerous other examples - buggered if I know why. |

Hi, are there any differences between the new UK Fabulous Films Boxset and the Kino Boxset?
Any differences in special features? picture quality? audio quality? Do either boxset come with a nice booklet? On Amazon UK the Fabulous Films set is £114.97 and the Kino is £88.44 free shipping A part of me wants to support our UK labels to keep them thriving but if there are no differences between the sets the Kino is a fair bit cheaper… |

BTW Amazon price matched up to the HMV price as they were £99.99 for pre-orders. |

No extras on the discs. They are from the same 4K masters, right down to many of the "previews" at the start of the episodes looking as rough as ar$eholes.

FF doesn't come with a booklet, but each season has its own case, and the inserts for each season hold a slightly more detailed (than the Kino booklet) synopsis for each episode.
The Kino has better artwork, and takes up less space. |

Hi, does the Fabulous Films release have the same wonky audio problem on 'The Greenhouse Jungle' (season 2, episode 2) as the Kino Lorber, with the dialogue heavily biased toward the left channel? I'd be really grateful if you could take a minute to check as I raised this issue with Kino Lorber via email and have been completely ignored by them (a very rude and arrogant company they seem to be). I had to return my KL set in any case due to missing/duplicated discs but have been waiting in the hopes that this new FF set fixes the problem...

![]() Edit: Someone should probably validate this as well, but I had a quick listen just - couldn't notice anything sitting at a distance. With my ear right next to the speaker the left maybe sounded a touch louder but I suspect that this is just confirmation bias. It certainly wasn't significantly biased towards the left speaker. Although I understand the frustration about the lack of extras and the price point, I'm happy the set is available. I ordered it without hesitation. After first being introduced to this show in 2015 when Madman released the first two seasons on Blu, I was YEARNING for Blus of the remaining seasons (and didn't particularly want the expensive 1080i Japanese set). If the remaining seasons also get a Blu release from FF, I'll be promptly buying it.

Just had it confirmed by FF that they ARE bringing the rest of the series out on Blu in the UK. Not sure when, or if they'll be going with "The Return" as the blanketing title, but it's in the works.
