Tarantino has a weird relationship with home video. The guy famously worked at a video store before his career took off, but he doesn't like any of the formats past DVD and laserdisc. I think it's because a lot of these 4k restorations for blu are almost like owning your own print, which he probably sees as a detriment to the 35mm theatrical experience. Hopefully he changes his mind just from an archival standpoint and wanting to preserve his films in the best possible quality.

He appears occasionally on Pure Cinema Podcast and the last time he was on there he was talking about stuff he had watched and mentioned the "Blu-ray" so he definitely buys them.

Where are you even getting this information from? Someone already debunked you and said he has mentioned blurays

Given the HDR grade of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I don't think Tarantino has at least professionally making his work look as close to print as possible for home video.

4. Pulp Fiction
5.Django Unchained
6. OUATIH
7.True Romance (he seems to think so)

1. Pulp Fiction

2. Jackie Brown
3. Kill bill 1&2

4. Once upon a time in Hollywood
5. Reservoir dogs
6. Inglourious basterds

7. Django Unchained

8. Death Proof (only with the full Grindhouse experience of course)
9. Hateful eight

For the record I do not like Hateful eight or the standalone of Death Proof. I hate that I dont like Hateful, it looks and sounds gorgeous with my favourite composer doing the score but damn it I just do not like it at all...

Edit: Oh and I LOVE Kurt Russell so that makes them all the more frustrating

I must be the only one here who knows Q.T. writes the trashiest dialog in modern movies.

A lot goes back to this interview with Empire.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I love my LaserDisc player. There’s a few films that I don’t have on video or DVD — I only have them on LaserDisc. And I have no reason to update them, because I like my LaserDiscs! The last one I watched was Dressed To Kill. I have many versions of Dressed To Kill, but for whatever reason I like watching it on LaserDisc.

Interesting! I've never actually seen that interview before, but it does line up with other things he's said over the years about home video. I probably didn't articulate my last post in the best way. It was more of an opinion gathered from all these little bits in interviews over the years.

He literally didn’t know what a 4K UHD was when a late night host plugged the movie on their show (Fallon maybe?) and they held up the UHD to camera.
