Just chiming in with agreement, although I liked S1. Wednesday is a misanthrope, so having a series revolve around her is challenging. I feel it fails at the school because everyone is still personally connected to Wednesday at some level. If the school and staff had their own plot(s) going on more independently of Wednesday, and Wednesday just gloomed through their stories peripherally as a sort of killjoy detective, it would actually be very similar to your classic literary detective novels, where the detective has little connection to the people they're investigating, and might work better. And the rest of her family -- God, that was the worst part of S1, and S2 has more of them. Thing is great. Fester is okay. The rest need to go away.

That said, Jenna Ortega carried the show pretty much singlehandedly in S1. And one thing they got decidedly right in S1 is that when a character is dead certain that they're always right and everyone else is wrong, that character is going to take things too far and do something very bad. And, bless the writers for their bravery on this, they went there.

Just came across this clip on Twitter:
https://x.com/netflix/status/1963587...ETfIv0Q9Q&s=19

Why does it look like a Disney Channel series? No wonder the second season isn't as over hyped as season 1. Jenna Ortega is such an overrated mediocre actress, beyond this and Scream she hasn't made anything memorable, I honestly don't think she has a career beyond this show.

You might be interested to know that before Jenna Ortega played Wednesday Addams, she played Harley Diaz in a Disney Channel sitcom called "Stuck In The Middle". Her mother in that show was Cerina Vincent.

Here's the first episode if you're curious:

S1 worked and I was moderately pumped for S2 but you always have to temper it a bit. This season has been OK, I suppose. Wednesday/Enid and The Mom, to some extent, carry it. You can have the rest. Fester is all right but not sure where thats going. The Pugsley side plot is a yawner.

I will stick this out but the last few Episodes are going to have to really ramp it up for this season to be deemed a success.
