I have a feeling the Caligula 4K will be immediately sold out once it becomes available in Amazon. As someone who has never seen the film, I hope that I'm fortunate to purchase it. Surprised it's not released yet for preorder. There are some films getting release in October (The Convent 4K) that are already up for preorder.

They left out one scene that was previously released as an extra in a very rough cut. All I'm saying is that it would have been nice to have it in HD (and in a competently edited version). It's a fun scene, and we'll never have a chance to see it again.

Like avmdeluca said, there's one scene in particular (not in the theatrical version) which Negovan wanted to restore to The Ultimate Cut, but he wasn't happy with the coverage. I'm guessing they didn't finish editing it upon seeing what they had. Instead there's a couple of shots used in the form of a quick nightmare/premonition sequence when Caligula is struck with the fever.

The Ultimate Cut ran closer to four hours initially, but they were determined to get it under three. Who knows, maybe another label will enquire about additional footage.

for me it's Helen Mirren
