My question is related to a conversation a few of us had earlier about a trade press story leaving it unclear whether the BD-L content was going to be restricted to new buyers of the BD.

my cousin that i mentioned purchased his on black friday in november, so yes, the older purchase date didn't prove to be a problem i guess.

Definitely unwarranted. I bought mine several months ago and, aside from load time, had zero issues accessing the new content on my Sony s550.

These extended editions wont get my money. The movie is sweet but not worth the double dip.

PS3, bought when first issued in 2008, did not delete content:

accessing all new content fine.

The extended edition that came out in IMAX. It was nothing really. There was a scene where Sam showed his friend his new car for the first time and his friend (the blonde kid) said, "It's yellow." And then there was an extended scene when Sam was arrested and he was being interrogated by that weird cop. They were all pretty useless scenes, no action at all.

any news on this extended version release? is it actually being released?

and any news on the bd-live content? for people that dont own the newer versions with the code?

You don't need a code if you have the Blu-ray Disc, you just pop it in and an update will download to your BD-Live enabled player. You then access the content from the BD-Live menu just like any other feature.
