My PA-120SUB was push away from the wall while still conected to the subwoofer cable. It cracked the plastic inside the female end and the whole female input stayed attached to the cable. Does anyone know where to get parts. Either the female input and output conection piece or the entire circuit board it is soldered to?

http://www.parts-express.com/home.cfm You can also call the manufacturer and see if they have parts. Radio Shack used to be a good source for electronic components, but they have changed quite a bit. Last edited by Big Daddy; 08-25-2009 at 03:40 AM. |

I have a question....has anyone ever hooked up this sub using the dvd sub out on a rcvr that doesn't have a regular sub out? I've got to go speaker level on my sub in the bedroom but that is something this sub is lacking is high level inputs. I'd love to hear this sub in a room that's not 5000 cu ft.

Hey all. I'm thinking of adding this sub to my HT as well. Where is everyone purchasing this from? I see it on Amazon, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't available anywhere else for a cheaper price ($229). I'm realling looking foward to adding this for Gladiator and Braveheart!!!

Will do. I've mentioned it before in another thread, but I just bought my first house so the sub really isn't "necessary" with all of the other projects that need to be done around the house. But I sure do have a bad case of upgraditis that has been hitting these threads. Stupid hi-definition and lossless audio

Sure thing. I plan on ordering it in a few weeks. Believe me one PA 120 sounds awesome and I think you will agree. If you use BD's (Big Daddy's) suggestions on finding the optimal location, one sub might be all you need. I don't have many choices on where to position my sub especially along the front stage which. The first sub is on the right side. The second one will be on the left side. It will help smooth out the bass across the listening area.

UPDATE: I just spoke to Eric Winston at Sound Distributors. He did confirm that in the next week or two that the price on the PA-120 will be going up to $250-$260. I just placed my order and it should be here in a few weeks!
If you are thinking about purchasing this sub, get it NOW!!! ![]() |

It is still worth 250! But you better hurry if you want to get one at 229. I wrote him an email asking what he thought of the Acoustech PL-200 and the PA-120 and he told me "they are very similar in performance"...so basically the PL-200 is 100 bucks more, has a more powerfull amp and contends with the PA. That says something about how well priced the PA is....beter get them while they are hot.

Since I have ceramic tile floor on a concrete slab at grade in my HT room, I decided that I might buy a Subdude riser.
I did an experiment to isolate the PA 120 from the floor in a rather crude way. I had a pad of high density closed cell neoprene foam (used by contractors when they have to work on their knees). It was by luck nearly the same size as the PA 120 base, just a tad smaller (ca. 0.25 in L and W) and it's about 1.25 inch thick. I put the pad under the sub. Then I checked to see if the 60 lb weight of the sub had compressed the pad any. It still measured 1.25 in. thickness under the 60 lb weight of the sub. Then I watched U-571 mainly during the depth charges exploding scenes. I immediately noticed that the bass was tighter and more solid. The impact was greater. My jaw dropped to the floor and it kept dropping to the floor after the TDK Hospital explosion, Ironside's rampaging sweep, canon fire shots in Master and Commander, and in Knowing when the colossal coronal mass ejection that swept through Boston. All I can say is that I was simply blown away. I've decided to order a Auralex SubDude. ![]() |
