Yep, that was exactly what i figured. Wait another week or two and all of a sudden 10% off changes to 20-30% off.

We're losing two Circuit City stores, after losing CompUSA and Tweeter. The only place left is Best Buy and HH Gregg, and they are in the part of town with the worst traffic.

Much like with Mervyn's closing down last month the discounts dropped 10% a week on all items with them. The catch is if you wait too long you're gonna be SOL because people will snatch up items at that 10-20% discounts while people waiting for the 30% or greater discounts to kick in will pretty much have the leftovers to choose from later on down the line.

What he said, don't waste your time. I spent all of ten minutes in there this morning. TVs are 10% off, what a joke.

Some people were buying 20% off SD DVDs, that was about it! The BD rack wasn't even marked off with a discount in the store I went to.

anyone know if the Onkyo receivers are on clearance yet? I'd like to upgrade my 705 to a 706 or 806 if the price is right!

Website is down now. Bummer since I was hoping to score some lenses. Easier to get credited for stuff that never left the warehouses than stuff that was sent out, so I guess they sent as much of that back as possible.

Default Circuit City -anyone found any really hot deals?

Just curious to see what deals people have been getting now that Circuit City is liquidating stocks in all stores. Blu-ray movies, players, TVs etc

Only 30% at the one I went to, Wayne, New Jersey. Nothing yet, in the next couple weeks it will be better when they go up to 50-60% off. Same as what Linens and Things did before Christmas, at first it was 10-15% then towards the end it was 60-70% off

The one I went to this morning had guys with signs on the streetcorner advertising up to 30% discounts. Inside, however, prices were as marked, as the lady told me "We haven't been visited by any liquidators yet."

It appears that their historic incompetence continues even into their end times.

Yeah, the same here, eveything was still priced as marked, but they had the 30% off signs out. I just looked then left. This is why I never shopped there in the first place.

I the store in Portland ME...prices were.

10% everything unless otherwise noted. Everything seemed to have prices higher then I ever remember, except for a few things. Nothing of deal there.

20% off all CDs and DVDs...AGain all regular price so most blus were $30 to $35. No deal there.

30% off all cables and furnature. Now that $100 Monster cable only costs $70.

Also looked like they cleared out any of the good stuff...IPods, Nintendo game systems, PS3s and so on... All the shelves were empty.

Place was packed though 70% bought nothing, 28% were buying small stuff and a few big buyers.

I almost felt bad for them. Get the TV home and if it does not work, have to deal with the manufacturer.

Default Bought Incredible Hulk today at CC

I've never seen so many people at CC until today. Gee I wonder why. All blu-rays were 20% off but the regular price was 34.99. My total came out to $30; some deal that was. In fact, it was the limited edition with the green cover. Still a rip off

I am sure there will be further reductions in weeks to come

No one said they were closing the stores in Canada.
Check www.circuitcity.com for more details.

Are you also shutting down your operations in Canada?

* No, our Canadian operations will continue. They are not affected by the liquidation of Circuit City's U.S. operations. The Canadian operations employ approximately 3,000 associates.
