lol, seriously. The prices would imply the food is better.. Tiny scallops, tiny shrimp.. Skimpy salad..

Double time tonight if my heart can handle it.. Can't let that butter marinate on my arteries for too long :0

I went to Red Lobster on my birthday and thought it was really good. A bit overpriced, but I only go there once a year (on my birthday) so I don't mind. I agree though that virtually everything they serve is coated with butter and horribly unhealthy, but that's why I don't go there often.

Yeah, I have had good dishes in the past.. I think I just made a bad choice, I was expecting reasonable sized scallops, instead of dime sized scallops..

Can't forget those lovely unlimited butter cheese rolls they serve you as an appetizer. They're good but loaded with calories and artery killing ingredients.

I just had my mid dinner meal. About 6oz of steak..little A1 sauce..sweet potato and a small salad. After my workout I'll have a little fruit or protein shake and that will be it for the day!

Really hit the weight training last night with my bands. Using the workouts from the P90x Arm/Shoulders I did 25 reps in and outs, 3 sets of 25 pushups, 25 reps of the Static arm curls, and a few others. Felt great!

Plyometrics and Abs today!

You starting to see progress yet? I know a while back you were complaining that the results weren't coming fast enough.

I'm not seeing progress in the mirror except in my face and arms. My face isn't as pudgy anymore and my arms are starting to tone.

My belly remains the same however.

Weight wise I've lost 6-8lbs. It depends on the day and how much water weight I have at a given time. Like in the morning I weight 172 but after a workout I'm 170.

When I started all of this 4 weeks ago I was a hair under 180lbs.

Ah, it's only been 4 weeks still. I bet it feels like a lifetime to you though, right?
8 pounds in 4 weeks is very solid though. Sounds like your going at it pretty hard and steady, but people respond to exercise differently though. I can go hard for a week or two and see/feel a difference, but my buddy has to workout for several months before he starts toning.

I was told to aim for 1-2lbs per week and that's perfectly healty. Anything more is not good.

If you stick to it, it works. I do think it's pricey but, they offer some good stuff and, you can pick up little books that do restaurants. Thus, you can go out to eat and know what you are doing etc. Though, it is possible some of it is online. I haven't used it myself but my ex-gf's mom was big into it and definitely works. No diet alone is going to help you lose weight regardless, takes exercise as well.

Unnecasery. Its just as easy to lose weight without those. Just learn to read the Nutrition label on the back of the food. and how much Calories you need to leave out a day to lose weight

Very true. 1-2 pounds is a common goal to shoot for though for safe weight lose. Do yourself a favor and buy a fat pincher though. So many people just get on a scale and say I lost or didn't loose anything. Scale tells you nothing on what is actually going on. I hope the best on your goals!

Weigh and pinch yourself only once a week at the same day and time. Make it in the morning right when you get up. Weighing or pinching yourself after working out is pointless and will never give you and actual number. Like I stated earlier get a fat pincher you will be satisfied with the outcome.

GNC sells one for 20 dollars and it's a one area pinch, very simple.

yeap, Scales are quite inacurate. Because your bodies fluids are changing constantly throughout the day.

3500 calories = 1lb of weight. wich is why you can see losing 1-2 aweek is most logical. Scales can give you an idea. but again, are not %100 accurate

Also, IF you weight yourself before you excersise, and after, and you weight alot less than when you started, that is not weight you have lost. that is Dehydration. You really want to weight almost the same after an excersise

and allways drink plunty of water

I agree with you to an extent. The method you mentioned (which is my method) works well for people who are educated on the subject of health and exercise and don't need the push or motivation to get/be fit. These regimented programs are good for people who need something to follow to get them on the right track. Typically they're tailored toward those who have not had the background of healthy eating and fitness as part of their life and are just starting to do something about it. If you have a program to follow, getting lean and healthy is easy (or easier) when you're on one of these plans.

The thing that works the best is consistency with everything you do: eating right (and at the right times), exercising, and proper rest are among the most important. Not everyone can just do that out of the goodness of their heart, though; they need that push or program. This is a big reason why people also hire personal trainers. I personally would probably be the worst personal trainer, because I'm extremely unforgiving and would get fed up with people way too quickly — I don't have the patience to deal with people trying to make excuses why they can't give it 100% at the gym.

Impressive. This is key to keeping your sanity, I think. Sure, you can go all-out, all the time and eat super lean, but you make yourself susceptible to burnout, which leads to bigger cheats and longer periods of cheating. Great job there. This is basically what I do, although I have a slightly different approach. I don't allow myself an entire day of cheating; what I do is allow one or two cheat dinners per week. It's pretty much the same thing as what you did (or do), but with a little twist.

If I could impart this method to the people in my life who I wish would do something about their health, I would. I can really get behind this method of diet control.

1.) I cut out fast food completely except for Subway (turkey on wheat baby)

3.) Cut out mayonnaise. I either substituted mustard or a small amount of light mayonnaise.

6.) I drink water!!! Water helps keep your system flushed out and yes, it even flushes fat out. Everyone is different but I try to drink 2.2 liters a day.

7.) No sodas!!! They are full of sugar! Diet soda's are ok but don't substitute them for water! Myself, I drink a diet soda or unsweetened tea with my meals and guzzle water throughout the day.

9.) Get plenty of sleep! People who are sleep deprived have a slower metabolism and tend to gain weight faster. Try to get 7-8 hours a night.
Those are my favorite of the points you mentioned. I especially agree with #1: no fast food, and #3: no mayonnaise. Man, that stuff is so bad for you. I do not consume mayonnaise in any situation ever, unless I'm eating dinner at someone's house and something they're cooking has it as an ingredient. I will never add mayo to anything. The same can be said for salt. That can be a killer.

I don't touch fast food. Period. There are rare occasions where the wife will get pizza for the boys, and every once in a while I'll have one of the remaining slices. That's pretty rare, though.

I'm also a really big fan of sleep. I don't get as much as I'd like (two kids and a workaholic mentality will do that to a person), but I do sleep more than many people I know. I also get awesome nights of sleep because I go hard all day, including during my workouts.

I like the other points you brought up, but those were my personal top five out of your list.
