this is a massive kick in the balls to all the people that bought the novamedia steelbook thinking it was a worldwide exclusive and noone else would produce it. im pretty disapointed to be honest. makes the novamedia a hell of alot less exclusive now

I'm disappointed as well. Pretty sure the rest of my money is going to Blufans since their releases feel exclusive still.

make sure to read reviews on yesasia.com before ordering they have some bad rep. I for one ordered once from them and it never showed up and was a pain in my a$$ working with them of figuring out a solution(they were very rude). never will again no matter what they have for pre-order.

Strange for this to appear on YesAsia.

If you look at the 2nd image of the item, the NM logo on the side of the slip has been changed to a Blu-ray logo, and what looks to be the Korean ratings logo, were the NE 001 writing was.

The SteelBook looks the same, but they have also taken all wording of Nova Media off the pictures which I assume were provided by the creators of the artwork, Plain Archive.

From what I can work out from all the images and details regarding this release, it seems to be released by Nova Media themselves i.e. they are both the publisher and distributor, unless Plain Archive have allowed the same artwork to be produced by another company (YesAsia states the publisher as being D&C Media), I doubt Nova Media allocated stock to YesAsia.

I also wonder if the disc will differ too, as the special features do not match the ones on the back of the Nova Media release.

I'm dissapointed. All the value from the NM one was it's exclusivity, that's why alot of people tried to get it, and resulted in the fiasco that we all know. The numering is a plus, but well, now it's not so rare.

ALL of the value was it's exclusivity? Sorry, I respectfully disagree.

There's still going to be a premium placed on the Novamedia version. It may be a small difference, but that's the one most collectors are going to want. Also, the Novamedia version would have sold out even if it was 5000 copies. Case in point would be the Mondo exclusive Drive released by Future Shop in Canada. It's sold out through pre-orders and it had 4000 copies or something (maybe it was less copies, don't quote me on it ). Drive was a great movie, and the Novamedia one is still very collectable.

Kind of scratching my head as to why people are balking about this.
It happes all the time with steelbook releases. Many steelbooks are exactly the same all over the world, with the only difference being the slipcover/number.
A good example is the recently released GitS SAC set the was only numbered to 700 in Japan. Now Korea is releasing the exact same set, actually a little better as it includes subtitles, but that is not going to affect the $400-$500 current pricetag on the Japanese release. Why? Because it's numbered.
The collectible aspect, for the most part, in these Asian steelbooks, lies with the number. As it does with 99.9% of all collectibles all over the world.

I'm just wondering is anyone so furious with NM they are cancelling 1/4 slip or Lenticular orders?

If you add the Groot Funko POP figure, it drops the cost for both down to £34.99.

Here's the link

But...but...they should. After all NM is the devil and those folks that are beside themselves by this horrible act shouldn't give any of their money to the evil empire: Novamedia.

TCM have a Cyber Monday 20% off + free shipping code "CYBER20" (Thanks to MifuneFan for posting the deal in the deal section.

Bunch of $9.99 steelbooks are $7.99 after the code. I'm sure most of us have all the $9.99 ones but some new collectors may not so figured I'd post here.

This is not as bad as it seems, the yesasia listing is part of the print run and is being sold by KDMEDIA.

Full xxxx/1800 = Local 900 overseas 900
lent xxxx/1800 = Local 900 overseas 900
1/4 xxx/400

I know you're mocking those who are upset with NM about this but the truth is that people who stressed out about the website's server issues and/or had to wake up early to order it have a right to be upset about it. I'm still holding to my Lenticular order of course. I ordered it because I liked how it all looked and double dipped from the US BD I have when double-dipping is something I rarely do. The supposed "exclusivity" and numbering of it didn't really factor into my decision to get it but if that's how something is presented, then that's how it should be delivered. Ultimately, there are much more important issues out there and as I mentioned before, I'm happy for those who were able to get an order through yesasia. Had I not joined a GB to get it, I would've jumped at the chance to get this through yesasia. But I don't blame anyone for not wanting to do anymore future business with a blatantly and shamelessly disingenuous company like NM.
