As for why Avengers got an all Blu is cause the Marvel Films starting with Iron Man-Avengers were released thru Paramount (Hulk was Universal) but Marvel/Paramount possibly wanted contiuation with the all Blu Marvel, Iron Man/Thor, Cap.America had blu discs while Hulk had a colored due to bein released by Universal.

Hated the fact that Avengers 3D got stacked intsead of held by the floppy Disc holders, I was expectin that. Could've placed the Marvel Cinematic Universe Feature on the 2D/3D/Itunes too

I thought that the book the trilogy comes in was kinda nice. I have no use for a jewelry box, and it wouldn't match my other diamonds so I figured I would just get the standalones.

I hope this site posts its Cinderella review soon. I’m very intrigued how the reviewer (probably Ken Brown) will evaluate the picture quality after all the controversy about it.

Also, if anyone is curious -- the previews on the blu-rays are the following:
- Peter Pan Diamond Edition
- Wreck it Ralph
- Secret of the Wings
- Nemo
- Brave
- Planes (pretty much Cars, but planes)

Both Cinderella and Cinderella sequels have the same previews. No mention of Aladdin or Little Mermaid.

Yes, there is a small dent in my jewelry box.

I also wish they had a little booklet with a list of special features (like the flowcharts they usually include in the regular blu-ray cases).

But otherwise everything looked great!
Why are those booklets the latest "trend"? Oh well ebtter than the Lion KIng trilogy or the Cars director's edition packaging

Sorry for the double post but I thought the press release said the sequels will be 7.1 DTS-HD?

i actually think the Cars Director's Edition was better packaging. it was a foam thing and the discs weren't touching anything other than the foam which isn't going to scratch the discs.

Reminds of the days when "Scene Selection" was a big deal on the packaging. So this is Disney's New Coke. Or maybe we all took the original sets for granted and they're teaching us a lesson.

No, the LE's were Disney's New Coke--
If you consider that Coke quietly shuffled the "new flavor" over to Diet Coke after the flap, in the hopes they could still sell it, and made a great show of re-dedicating themselves to the "Classic" flavor of the original.

(And yes, for a long time, I had a copy of the L&T LE, of the six titles Disney was reduced to clearance giving-away free at the Disney Store, when the Snow White Platinum DVD first came out... )

Yeah, definetley, how come it didn't work where the early LEs sold out fast but the later ones didn't. I think it was because they started making foreign editions so that there were now local editions

Cinderella's review is up:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Cinde...y/7650/#Review

Ken Brown gives this release top marks but aknowledges the fact that grain has been removed from the film. Even though he says is a stellar transfer.

I was hoping that at least one of the photos would show the DisneyView feature that was mentioned in the review.

When the LE's came out, we thought, well, that was it; there weren't that many DVD's with extras out there, and we thought we were lucky to get Pinocchio and Lion King on hard disk at all.
Later, when some folks started returning them for refunds (because they couldn't find the "Character art"), it did start us all thinking, yeah, maybe we shouldn't encourage them on this one.
