I think Disney should use one of the EU titles for Episode VII, even if they don't directly adapt any of them. Not individual books like "Heir to the Empire", but the whole series, like "The New Jedi Order", "The New Republic", etc.

That would be a good one, too.

As long as it doesn't have the word "Rise" in it, I'll be happy.

Shadows Of The Empire is one of the best Star Wars novels in the series, and is considered a fully integrated sequel to The Empire Strikes Back. As a media project is was backed by a toy line, video game (PC and consoles) plus a soundtrack composed by Joel McNeely, plus a graphic novel. It is the defacto story of what takes place between films 5 and 6, and features brilliant villain Prince Xizor who wants nothing more than to rid himself of Darth Vader and replace him at the Emperor's side. Awesome stuff.

Stop making me feel stupid.

No, I never saw a pattern there before, ever. Ever.

Cheers! Did you know Torchwood is an anagram for Doctor Who? A blind guy told me that...

Whenever Lucasfilm came up with the concept, they wanted 'Everything Except The Film' to be the guiding rule. So as mentioned we got the novel, game, action figures, comic, full orchestra soundtrack etc and the coolest thing about it is that the storyline is the defacto sequel to Empire. I'd suggest picking up the novel dirt cheap from Amazon or wherever. Still got the soundtrack cd in my collection, it's rather excellent.

I usta run a website during the prequel releases that did this. We made a few accurate predictions, just 'cause Star Wars has this distinct feel and story progression that most fans are fairly in tune with.

Speculating the title is also speculating the substance of the film, which many of us are doing. And we're at a time with little to no information, and almost 3000 replies in this thread, I was just putting it out there for anyone who wanted to join the fun.

Kinda like the guy who made the poster. It is 100% uninformed, but speculates possibilities of the story. Let's have fun until late next year when we know something. Wait! It's Star Wars... and it's JJ! We'll probably have some concrete details in April, 2015.
I'm in! That's what we've been doing from 1997-2005, it was fun. Here we go again!

I keep thinking Balance of the Force, but that might be unlikely. We have Clones, Sith, Empire and Jedi being used in the previous titles, so I think one of the new episodes will have maybe Force or Skywalker in it.

As for the plot, I have a bad feeling that they will use what they have established in the prequels: cloning. The Emperor or Vader might return. It makes me dizzy to think about it, but it's not impossible when we look at the saga as a whole. Lucas has always said that the saga is about Anakin. So the fact that the next one will be Episode VII instead of a standalone, we just might see Anakin again.

Switching gears just a bit.... Did Disney also get the rights to Indiana Jones when they bought LucasFilm?

If so, will there be more movies from that franchise too?

Or was it only for Star Wars?

[Show spoiler]George Lucas really needs to lose weight. He looks more and more like Jabba the Hutt with each passing day.

Yes, but there might be distribution rights issue with Paramount for the current movies, not sure when their rights will expire. From the news I think Indy 5 is not really moving forward, but it's not seems to be dead either.

Essentially this. Apparently Lucas is working on a fifth film, but with the distribution rights sort of up in the air, it's just kind of in limbo. Not dead, but not really alive. Just kind of is.

And Hayden Christensen will be just the right age for the role. Oh no! I read in a magazine that Vader returns, but that magazine is free at JB Hi-Fi and has featured an article about how women don't appreciate HD, or know how to hook up a home theatre, and they constantly misspell the word; come.

Did you see Spicoli's post on the page before? Both trilogies titles begin with the letters A, T and R. We could make something of that? Also, I think Balance of the Force (the title that was kicking around for The Phantom Menace) is a great title, but kinda references to Anakin's story from I-VI. Unless the New Jedi Order actually brings balance, as things are now as they were in the Old Republic (many Jedi, no Sith).

VII: Rise of the (new enemy)
VIII: A New Jedi Order/Another Skywalker
IX: The Balance of the Force?

Those titles will do. And if everyone hates this trilogy too, they can refer to it as the RAT Trilogy!

I'm curious to see what title JJ or the writers come up with. Rght now it is the thing I am most intrigued about. Anyone remember how far out from the release dater the previous film's subtitles were released?
