The matching center would be either the CC-300 or CC 350 and the surrounds are the ADP 150's.
Sorry, I just noticed that the CC 350 replaced the CC 300, so the CC 300 is the matching center.

Default they work & sound great!

i couldn't wait and so i disconnected my calabrine bi-wire cables from my Axiom M80v3 front L&R and connected them to the paradigm 5semk3 bi-wirable speakers and turned on the Emotiva XPA-5 amp and heard, nothing---which was good because i heard nothing (since nothing was on to play) i just wanted to make sure that there wasn't static from a bad crossover or bad driver(s). then i said let me get right down to it. i only needed two things to test these speakers out and both of them were SACD's.

up first:

John Coltrane: A Love Supreme - - DSD Stereo

played the first cut, title track, the speakers played the highs of the cymbals and the horns mid highs with accuracy and meaning. the bass guitar was very present and well representated. the vocals were as they should have been.

up last and by no means least:

John Mayer: Heavier Things - - DSD multichannel & DSD Stereo

played the first cut, Clarity, anyone who has ever heard this on either redbook CD or SACD knows how bass heavy this is once John gets to the breakdown! the stereo play was incredible and the speakers got down pretty low without a sub but blended in incredibly well with the X-Ref 12 sub once it was in the mix. Johns voice and other instruments sounded beautifully. my girlfriend said she loved the sound of them and was happy that we lucked out and got two perfectly good speakers of their age that worked perfectly.

those 8" woofers were no joke either! the sound was very nice. if i'm really lucky, somehow, i can find the matching center for these speakers which is the CC-300; yes, i'll be looking for one in black too!

i just can't believe she got these speakers for $90.oo and they work perfectly and sound this good; what a find she and the speakers are and YES, they are both mine to play with as much as i want!

i have been happily introduced into the world (all be it old world) of Paradigm Speakers.....I LIKE IT! - - - I LIKE IT A LOT!

thanks buddy, proud to be a part of the family! I did find someone with the CC350 which is the replacement for the CC300. it's supposed to be a step up. of course i liked the CC300 because it's bi-wirable/bi-ampable and the 350 is not. but on the other hand the 350 is supposed to be the successor of the 300 so, there ya go!

Paradigm front 3 for the basement, coming up!

Just thought I say what's up to my Paradigm family. Sold my Klipsch Icon's a few weeks back and got a Paradigm Reference Millenia 20 Trio. I love it! For the space I'm in I couldn't ask for anything more.

Now I'm looking to buy a pair of Paradigm Studio 10's for my office setup...can't wait!

That's good to hear that your enjoying your Millenia system. I would also take a listen to the SE 1's if you get the opportunity, they strike a nice balance between the Monitors and the Studio's. They're easier on the wallet too but the best case scenario for your auditions would be to face off the Atom Series 7, SE 1's and Studio 10's and take home the winner. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

i need some help fellas. theres a guy on craigs selling a CC-350 center and it's listed as "in very good shape and works perfectly". as you all know from the other day, my girl surprised me with a pair of 5SEMK3 towers. i have been made to understand that the actual matching center is the CC-300 but the CC350 replaced the 300.

the price asked is acceptable and i don't want to wait past this weekend to get the center. can anyone of you with experience of the older digms tell me if the CC-350 is an acceptable timbere match for the 5SEMK3 towers.

thanks, i need to move on them before the weekend is out.

thank you to everyone for your help as well as your welcoming me into the DIGM Family!

Yeah I've been looking at the SE1's online as well...pretty nice. The problem with auditioning them is the only Paradigm dealer in my area does not have them on display nor does he have any of the Monitor series. So basically I have to go from what I've heard...which is the Atom's and the Studio 10/20's.

If you click on my HT gallery and look at the last picture you'll see just how limited space is for a pair of bookshelves in my office. Plus my amp (Marantz PM5004) is on the lighter side, thats why I was leaning towards the Atom's or Studio 10's. What's your opinion for my given situation?

Your Marantz should do alright as long as your not trying to crank it all the time, it will have an easier time with the Atoms though. Moderate listening levels it won't matter.

I have a pair of Atom V5's I was using in a bedroom with a vintage Marantz set up and they are an amazing speaker. I don't think for the price that you could do better. My Atoms are now back to HT use in my 7.1 set up...

Those were my thoughts exactly...at roughly $300 a the pair I don't know if there is a better value. They look good, sound great, and get extremely well reviewed. Hmm, decisions, decisions....

When I auditioned speakers for my kitchen, I ended up going with Atoms over SE's or Studios. They (obviously) don't sound as great as the Studios, and they're not as powerful as the SE's, but its for the kitchen, you know?

Are you really going to spending a lot of time doing 'reference' listening in your office? I'm never one to talk someone out of buying NICE speakers, just something to consider.

PS - I LOVE my Atoms. They KICK in the kitchen (beautiful full & bassy sound), and I ended up buying another pair to add a little sound in the dining room with the $ I had left over from not buying the SE's...

Hi folks, I've had a set of Paradigms FOR-EV-ERRRR and it's time to upgrade my center channel.

My front soundstage is currently a set of Ash Mini-monitors and (I believe) a CC-70 that my cousins bought me.

I keep seeing CC-190s on ebay for next to no money and I'm wondering if that will better suite my mini monitors but I think the CC line has been discontinued.

Does anyone know what the current version would be??

They have something on the Paradigm site called the Center 1 and Center 3 and I think that might be the way to go.

Any suggestions??

Thanks all,

~LD

i got home today and my girlfriend said, i've got some stuff in the car and would you mind taking it out of the back seat and bringing it inside so i said sure; well, here is what was in the back seat of her car:

they look pretty good, don't they!

performance series, i'm wondering can someone tell me the approximate year these came out? i can't find anything about them at the paradigm site.

bi-wirable/bi-ampable too! you gotta love that!

they come with a full refund return policy if they don't perform as they should. my girlfriend got them for $90.oo If they work out right, they will be the front 2channels for my basement system (it doesn't exist yet) but it's nice to have a new (new to me, an Axiom man with Paradigm speakers kinda new) and different pair of speakers. i've always wanted to get some paradigms and now i have them.

i'll keep you guys posted and let you know how they sound. i'll probably connect them up to my existing bi-wired front's in the big HT setup to test them out. as you can see from the pictures, they didn't come with jumpers which is fine as i planned on bi-wiring them anyway!

I have the 7seMK3 for my fronts, 5seMK3 for my rears, CC-300 for my center and DSP-3200 for the sub. For the price that you paid for the speakers, you got one hell of a deal. I absolutely love them. They produce and nice warm balance and the tweeter doesn't sound harsh. I am running them with a Denon 889, but that might change soon.

The CC-300 is a beast of a center channel. I will keep my eyes open and let you know if I see one. Welcome to the world of Paradigm.

Found a solution for my CC-190. I built a shelf above the TV, from wall to wall, my tv is kind of in a corner. Bought nice solid heavy duty brackets and a sheet of 1" thick pine, primed and painted. Now just have to place my center and wire it up. I used all Monster XP 16g, and only have a very short piece left. Best Buy has none left in stores so now I have to order it and wait Will post pics when its completley installed.
